Will The Finals be free-to-play?

The answer is yes, The Finals will be a live service free-to-play game when it officially launches for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Finals is currently in a PC-exclusive closed beta, which only those lucky enough to get a Steam code are able to play. This beta is also free, but it revealed that the game will indeed have its own currency with an in-game store and battle pass that players can spend their cash on.

As the game will seemingly follow the standard live service free-to-play format, we can also assume that there will be seasonal updates that provide both new content and balance changes.

Unfortunately, there is no official release date for The Finals at the time of writing, but the devs have confirmed that it will be free-to-play. When Embark Studios release that information we will be sure to update this piece.
