Your current character in Sea of Thieves doesn’t send your hearties on their timbers? Here’s how you can change your character in Sea of Thieves.

Sea of Thieves has you choose between randomly generated pirates in the beginning and you can’t handpick your looks. Sure, you can later easily dress your dirty little bilge rat with nice sets of clothes, but if you want to change your looks, the process isn’t as straightforward.

So, here’s how to change your character in Sea of Thieves.

How to change your pirate in Sea of Thieves

There are only two ways to change your character in Sea of Thieves, that is by either deleting your current character or by using the Pirate Appearance Potion.

You can find the Pirate Appearance Potion in Pirate Emporium’s shop for either 149 Ancient Coins or $2.09 in Sea of Thieves. Once you use it, you’ll have to log out, and when you boot up next time, you’ll be able to pick between randomly generated characters again. This is only one-time use potion, so sit a while and keep looking until the right choice pops up.

Deleting your character and restarting again doesn’t sound too canny, but it is still the only other option you have. Just head to ‘Setting’ and click on ‘Pirate Profile,’ and you’ll see an option to delete your pirate.

Now, just restart and you’ll get another shot to pick from another set of randomly generated characters.

If you do opt for to delete pirate, all your saves and items (excluding the ones you spent real money on) will disappear. This is a better option only if you’ve just started and are only a couple of hours in.

Those are the only two ways to change your appearance in Sea of Thieves. For more about the game, as well as other similar pirate adventures, check out:
