Diablo 4’s Gauntlet mode is the only activity tied to a leaderboard, and here’s why it was disabled during the last week of Season 3.

The Gauntlet mode in Diablo 4 consists of a weekly rotating dungeon with fixed monster spawns. It’s an endgame activity where players compete against each other to try and get the fastest completion time for a spot on the weekly leaderboard.

However, during the final week of Diablo 4 Season 3, players who tried to access the Gauntlet were greeted with a message that said, “Trials have ended for this week.”

So if you’re getting this message, here’s why Diablo 4’s Gauntlet mode was disabled during the last week in Season of the Construct.

Why can’t I play Gauntlet in Diablo 4?

Diablo 4’s Gauntlet mode has been disabled during the final week of Season 3 so the devs can prepare for Season 4.

Community Manager Adam Fletcher, aka PezRadar, explained, “the final week of the season would have some additional complexities during its wind down period before we begin each new season.”

PezRadar further clarified the Gauntlet will be disabled not only during the final week of this season but for future seasons as well. He also apologized for not communicating this to players earlier.

When will Gauntlet return in Diablo 4?

The Gauntlet will be available once again with the launch of Diablo 4 Season 4 on May 14. In the new season, Blizzard will be introducing major changes to some of the key aspects of the game including itemization and the Codex of Power.

How these changes affect the Gauntlet, and the overall class positions on the Leaderboard remains to be seen.

That sums up everything you need to know about why the Gauntlet mode was disabled during the final week in Diablo 4 Season 3. For more information about the game, be sure to check out:
