Diablo 4 Season 4 is the next major update for the game and is set to release on May 14 which also happens to be the date Season 3 ends. Here’s everything that you need to know about the Season 4 start date.

For the first time, a Diablo 4 season was delayed because the developers wanted to do a PTR before the new season was released.

Once the new season goes live, players will be able to experience a brand new storyline along with some fresh mechanics and features in Diablo 4.

If you’re wondering about the start date of Season 4 in Diablo along with the end of Season 3, we’ve got you covered below.

When will Diablo 4 Season 3 end?

Diablo 4 Season 3 will end on May 14, 2024. This date was confirmed in the Diablo 4 Campfire Chat on March 20, 2024.

The season was extended to incorporate the feedback that the developers received from the PTR that they conducted for Season 4.

From what was seen during the PTR, some of the core mechanics are getting a major overhaul in Season 4, which is one of the primary reasons why the season was pushed back.

When will Diablo 4 Season 4 start?

Diablo 4 Season 4 will start on May 14, 2024, right after Season 3 ends. This season was initially scheduled to start on April 16 but was pushed back because of the PTR.

If Blizzard continues with a similar model with respect to the release times, Season 4 can also be expected to begin at around 6 PM GMT / 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT.

Diablo 4 character seasonal reset explained

For every new season in Diablo 4, you need to create a new seasonal character. While your character progress is completely reset, there are a few things that carry over into the new season. They are as follows:

  • Renown and renown-related rewards
  • Paragon Points
  • Skill Points
  • Potion Charges
  • Obol capacity
  • Altar of Lilith progress

Before creating a new Seasonal character once the new season goes live, Blizzard recommends that you log in with a character you’ve made the most progress on. This will ensure that the above features carry over properly to your new character.
