Blizzard’s servers seem to have been overwhelmed by users upon the release of Diablo 4 Season 1. Despite fans’ criticism after 1.1.0 update, it seems that major player demand has caused a significant roadblock for those who want to try Season of the Malignant.

Diablo 4 has hit a huge roadblock after the official release of Season of the Malignant, where servers are crashing due to an overload of player demand. Despite having disappointed what seemed to be the majority of its fan base with the 1.1.0 update, lots of eager Diablo 4 players have stated that they are stuck waiting in an endless queue with no clear indication of when they’ll finally gain access to the game.

Players have reported that they are experiencing a wait time of more than 30 minutes to access the game and also demanded answers from developers on the Campfire Chat live stream.

Diablo 4 players reported problems in Season 1

Players have been sharing their technical problems in the Diablo 4 subreddit, where many have reported being stuck on loading screens and even invisible barriers that freeze characters. Most users reported an issue with the 300202 error code, which is typically linked to the game’s servers.

Players wasted no time in slamming the launch of the 1.1.0 update, with one player responding: “It’s embarrassing that Season 1 launch is worse than actual launch..”

Blizzard have confirmed they are aware of the server issues, tweeting: “We’re seeing some unusually long queue times for #DiabloIV. We are working on this, and we appreciate your patience as we work to get everyone into Sanctuary.”

But those who have entered Diablo 4 and started playing with Season of the Malignant also reported that can’t even complete the starting quest and that every character in Sanctuary seems to have glitched somehow.

Those players who have gained access to the game also stated that a new error has been kicking them out of the game, which means landing back into the limbo of the server queue. As a result, many are choosing to remain in-game, further exacerbating the server strain.

In the hours since Diablo 4 Season 1 launched, the server issue do seem to have eased slightly. That being said, there are still reports of some long queues and disconnects.
