The Diablo 4 community reported a strange issue that has been critically glitching their game during Season 2. Here’s what the Diablo 4 community has been talking about.

Diablo 4 players have been overall impressed with what Season of Blood has brought in terms of gameplay. Blizzard have also added a couple of much-requested features, such as a Paragon Board Reset all and the Training Dummy. However, fans have been reporting an issue that has frequently locked up their games.

“I’ve been enjoying S2 despite it, but it’s getting tiresome. It seems like 3/5 times I reflex open a menu in the overworld, it hard locks my game and requires force quitting it from the task manager. I play with cross-play off, so I encounter fewer people, but it’s getting worse and worse,” described Redditor Erthan-1 in a post called “The lockups are getting old.”

Diablo 4 fans are getting tired of their games locking up and losing progress.

Surprisingly, many players agreed with the situation and pointed out that it has been a frequent glitch that has even broken entire saves. “This makes Hardcore hard. Lost a 42 Druid like this,” said Reddit user FohnFohnFohn.

While some think this might be a hardware issue, others say that they weren’t having lock-ups during Season 2 and were still playing with the same setup. “My laptop is really good, though it has only 16 GB of RAM. I thought that this could be the issue, but I’ve never had this problem before the 1.2 patch, so I don’t know honestly what’s the issue,” pointed out Redditor CiccioGraziani.

While Blizzard usually includes every bug fix in their updates, Diablo 4 players have stated that they sometimes find changes that aren’t written in their patch notes, so they have started to wonder if the lock-up glitch could be something related to a “shadow update.”

“My game also needs to be forced to quit from time to time. Sometimes I can play for a day or two without, and some days I get it two times in a few hours. Seen massive threads of people having this issue, so doubt it’s the machine itself,” said Reddit user Boeftje.

Blizzard haven’t addressed this issue officially yet, so we’ll keep you posted for any update. Meanwhile, you can check what changes Diablo 4 players want for Helltides or how to fix the Diablo 4 “queued for game” message that’s been common in Season of Blood.
