Diablo 4 Season 2’s start time was delayed for a few hours due to technical issues, and fans were outraged by the short notice. Angry Diablo 4 players took to Reddit and X, where even Elon Musk chimed in to say “I feel ya.”

Diablo 4 Season of Blood got off to a rocky start after Blizzard announced that its release was being delayed due to some unspecific “technical issues.” Even after the problem was fixed, fans were outraged by the short notice, especially after being hyped to try the major changes in Season 2.

“We have encountered some technical issues with our current build and will be delaying Season of Blood’s start time by a few hours to remedy these issues. Once we have more information, we’ll update you right away. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the feedback you have provided and your patience,” Blizzard described in their official forums.

Fans took over the Diablo 4 subreddit, and were disappointed that Blizzard didn’t foresee the situation before confirming the Season 2 release date and time. “You had to wait until the last possible moment to tell us this?,” said Reddit user kmiller441.

Blizzard officially announced the delay a couple of minutes after the release time, which surprised players who had already been reporting issues when trying to get into Diablo 4 servers. The issue has also extended to Steam and Steam Deck players, where Diablo 4 was supposed to launch for the first time.

“As a developer, I’m routinely blown away by what gaming devs get away with. I can’t imagine missing a deadline for a go-live on a release that had been advertised for months, and even had a count-down,” pointed out Reddit user Nazarim, summing up what most players are saying.

After a few hours, Blizzard confirmed that the Season 2 release had some issues with cross-platform play between PC and consoles, which had to be disabled for Diablo 4 Season of Blood, and Patch 1.2.0 to finally be rolled out.
