Diablo 4 fans have reported to have major lag problems that have even led them to lose characters during Hardcore mode. Here’s what the Diablo 4 community has been talking about.

Diablo 4 Season of Blood introduced a fair number of gameplay updates and bug fixes that tried to answer major issues reported by players. But even with less than a month for Season 2 to end, fans still complain about how much lag affects their playthroughs, even when playing in single-player mode.

Blizzard’s decision to push for Diablo 4 discounts and free trials during the holiday season seemed to have made the problem bigger. Players reported to have lost multiple characters due to major lag episodes, and even stated that some endgame challenges have been almost “impossible” to play.

“It can be stupid. The lag, rubberbanding, and disconnections can be ridiculously bad. In the midst of any event, if I press certain keys, such as “e”, “i”, etc, my game will sometimes freeze. I also dislike the game lagging or freezing when going from one zone to another,” commented Redditor ‘JBurke2079,’ in a post called “How the hell does Diablo 4 have lag?.”

A Diablo 4 fan started the post by asking why a single-player campaign couldn’t just run offline, and that lag had ruined an event where they had spent materials that cost hours to grind. “I just spent a few nights saving up 150 blood lures, and lost the fight after summering because of the unplayable lag kicking in, weapons wouldn’t fire, and I would be bouncing all over the place,” Redditor ‘Mangy_DogUK’ said.

While some were adamant that Blizzard’s latest ARPG is supposed to be played as a multiplayer game, other users pointed out that party interactions were “forced” and that everything in the game, including endgame activities, discourages multiplayer features.

Most players explained that playing with Hardcore characters have become a pain because of increased lag issues and stated that they tried every technical solution to get rid of the problem: “I have this issue and I realized my HDD is old af, switched to SSD and voila… lag is still there,” commented Redditor ‘Skarbenix.’

However, most users pointed out that Blizzard is known for having major lag issues during holidays and that this have been made worse by a new batch of players that began playing after Steam’s Diablo 4 sale. “It’s that time of year, lots of people at home. So… lots of people playing the game. And, well, Blizzard Servers simply don’t have the power…,” summed user ‘TrueKalak.’

And that’s everything on why Diablo 4 players are rage quitting over lag issues in Season 2. If you want to know more about the game, check what great Diablo 4 tricks fans shared to maximize damage and what inventory issues have players quitting Blizzard’s latest ARPG.
