Blizzard made an official statement announcing policy changes that will transform the way some Diablo 4 players have been enjoying their game. Here’s what happened with Diablo 4 and their stance on game-modifying tools.

The Blizzard devs have once again announced some controversial changes in Diablo 4. While players are waiting for an update that restores Season 1‘s reputation, Diablo community chief Adam Fletcher has issued a statement about game-modifying tools in their official forums.

“All Diablo 4 players agree to the Blizzard EULA as a condition of playing the game. The Blizzard EULA explicitly prohibits cheating, bots, hacks, and any other unauthorized software which automates, modifies, or otherwise interferes with the game,” Fletcher said in the official post.

Blizzard called out a specific mod that has been rising in popularity, named TurboHUD4. According to Fletcher, using this type of software will put Diablo 4 players’ accounts at risk of permanent suspension.

What is TurboHUD4 in Diablo 4?

According to its website, TurboHUD4 is a non-official customizable overlay for Diablo 4. This set of tools lets players track changes in the world map and configure plugins that reveal dungeon maps, signal items, or other resources of interest.

Blizzard‘s main concern is that a mod like TurboHUD4 could also be used for cheating, mainly because this overlay could provide real-time information and insights in PvP mode.

Here’s Blizzard’s full statement about the use of TurboHUD4 in Diablo 4:

“We are committed to keeping the world of Sanctuary a safe and fair place for all players, and our Game Security team constantly monitors for cheats and unauthorized modifications.

All Diablo 4 players agree to the Blizzard EULA as a condition of playing the game. The Blizzard EULA explicitly prohibits cheating, bots, hacks, and any other unauthorized software which automates, modifies, or otherwise interferes with the game. This is important to players’ security as well as the game’s long-term integrity.

With that in mind, we want to make it clear that TurboHUD4, like any game-modifying software, is prohibited for use with Diablo 4. Players who install this kind of software will put their accounts at risk for disciplinary action, which can include permanent suspension. Thank you to our players for helping to keep Sanctuary fair for all.”
