MW3 Zombies: How to Pack-a-Punch weapons

Although MW3’s Zombies mode has some differences compared to the traditional mode, some of the classic features are still available such as the Pack-a-Punch. So if you’re wondering how to improve your guns in Zombies, here’s how to Pack-a-Punch weapons in MW3.

Modern Warfare 3 brought the CoD development teams together to achieve the best version of each mode available at launch, which is why the founding team of the Zombies, Treyarch, joined to help the first version of the mode for the MW saga.

Different from the original version, MW3 Zombies takes players to Urzikstan, the upcoming Warzone map set to debut in Season 1. Further, it departs from the traditional round-based survival approach and introduces an extraction-oriented mode introducing elements from Warzone’s DMZ.

Even though MW3’s version of the mode changed the classic functionality, many of the Perks and features, such as the Pack-a-Punch upgrades, are still available. So, if you’re looking for how to upgrade weapons in Zombies to easily survive the living dead, here’s how to Pack-a-Punch weapons in MWZ.

How Pack-a-Punch works in MW3 Zombies

To Pack-a-Punch weapons in MW3 Zombies, all you need to do is find a Pack-a-Punch machine across the map and spend the required amount of Essence points to purchase the upgrade of your weapon.

Keep in mind that the amount of Essence needed will vary according to the Zone level you’re in. Below you can find a list of every amount of Essence each Zone requires:

  • Zone 1 (Normal): 5,000 Essence
  • Zone 2 (Orange): 10,000 Essence
  • Zone 3 (Red): 15,000 Essence

To get Essence points rapidly, you can complete Bounty contracts and in-game challenges, or find Essence containers and easily gather the amount you need.

Similar to previous iterations of Zombies, the Pack-a-Punch improved weapons will allow you to easily survive within the living dead mode, especially as you advance in the Zones, where the difficulty increases and the enemies become stronger.
