With Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded finally here, there are a ton of changes for players to explore in the Call of Duty title, including the addition of new weather in the form of a Sandstorm on the outskirts of Al Mazrah.

Season 3 Reloaded of Warzone 2 is finally underway, a plethora of brand-new content has arrived in the Call of Duty title, including new weapons such as the FTAC Siege Machine Pistol, GS Magna Desert Eagle, and Throwing Star.

The seasonal update also brought a few updates to Al Mazrah that players can check out after hopping into the map, such as additional loot spawns in the Oasis area. The map also received weather changes in Season 3 Reloaded.

Warzone 2 Al Mazrah Sandstorm explained

After Season 3 Reloaded went live in Warzone 2, Al Mazrah received a massive Sandstorm that starts on the outskirts of the map. This sandstorm slowly makes its way toward Al Mazrah city as the match progresses.

Players will experience reduced visibility as a result of this new weather update on Al Mazrah, adding a feeling of additional realism to the map. This will make things a bit trickier as players will have to win battles while the Sandstorm makes it difficult to see.

The Season 3 patch notes make it clear that this will be less prevalent during Ranked Play matches. According to an official blog post, the visual obfuscation effects of the Sandstorm are “heavily reduced” in Ranked Play.

This will ensure that players that jump into Warzone 2’s new Ranked Play mode are able to see their enemies and environment more clearly than in regular Battle Royale matches. Sandstorms have been present in DMZ.

In the Escape from Tarkov-inspired game mode, a Sandstorm serves as a random occurrence that has a great impact on players’ visibility and ends up reducing their chances of survival. Players end up vacating the area to make sure they’re not at a disadvantage.
