Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah map features many classic maps from the Modern Warfare series, and a map change teased for Season 2 will bring a classic MW2 map to life.

An enormous battle royale map is the perfect place to include classic Call of Duty locations, and Infinity Ward went all-out in bringing iconic maps to Al Mazrah. High Rise, Terminal, Showdown, and even the original CoD’s Neuville can be found.

These maps have been adjusted while being added to Al Mazrah, but it looks the classic Afghan map will receive its most iconic feature with map changes coming in the Season 2 update on February 15.

The Sattiq Cave Complex features Modern Warfare 2’s Afghan map, but you’d be forgiven for missing it. While you can explore the area such as the bunker, cave system, and cliff, it’s missing its most distinctive feature — the crashed plane.

However, the devs broke down all of the changes coming to DMZ in Season 2 including the progress wipe and the new Ashika Island map. On top of that, they teased a map change coming in the Season 2 update.

“There are developments to explore in Al Mazrah as well,” said the devs, “including the crash of an unknown aircraft at the Sattiq Cave Complex.” This is a direct reference to the Afghan area, where it appears it will finally have its iconic plane in its rightful place.

Whether that’s the only Al Mazrah map change we’ll see in Season 2 remains to be seen, but if not you’ll have the entirety of the brand-new Ashika Island Resurgence map to explore which may have some more classic maps to discover when it arrives on February 15.
