Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2’s Throwing Star Lethal weapon is perfect for quickly finishing off downed enemies. Here’s how to unlock the Throwing Star in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded.
With Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded finally here, fans of both Call of Duty titles have plenty of fun new content to enjoy, including new weapons like the FTAC Siege Machine Pistol and GS Magna Desert Eagle.
Those aren’t the only new weapons in Season 3 Reloaded as the seasonal update has also added the Throwing Star, a brand-new Lethal suited to stealthy playstyles. We’ll break down how you can unlock this weapon.
Here’s how to unlock Throwing Stars in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
How to unlock Throwing Stars in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2
Players can unlock Throwing Stars by getting 50 Throwing Knife kills in either Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 following Season 3 Reloaded. Unlike other new weapons, these deadly throwables won’t be available in a bundle, so you’ll have to tick off the challenge to unlock them.
Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is probably the easiest place to rack up Throwing Knife kills thanks to the more close-quarters maps and the fact they’re a guaranteed one-hit kill. So, we recommend heading over to Shipment 24/7 to get this done quickly.
However, Warzone 2 players can also knock a fully-plated enemy with a hit to the head or torso, so it shouldn’t take too long to unlock the Throwing Stars no matter how you play.

While Throwing Knives are a popular Lethal in both games, the Season 3 Reloaded blog reveals that Throwing Stars are “faster, with a longer range and a higher stock” than their counterparts.
The devs also mentioned that they will require a “quick doubletap” or a headshot to earn a kill, so they will require greater accuracy and a faster trigger finger to make the most of them.
However, they do inflict a “wounding effect” on any enemy they hit without killing, draining their health and opening them up for a finishing blow.
