Warzone 2 Ranked Play is right around the corner, with the beta soon to be available to battle royale players. Here’s everything we know about Ranked Play for Warzone 2, including the beta release date, rules, and SR system.

Almost all of the top battle royale games, such as Apex Legends, PUBG, and Fortnite, have a ranked mode where the most dedicated players can battle players of similar skill and climb the ranks.

The feature has been notably missing from Warzone, but players are desperate to see it finally arrive in Warzone 2. Here’s everything we know about Ranked Play for Warzone 2 including the official release date, rules, and rewards system.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play beta release date

The devs confirmed that the Warzone 2 Ranked Play beta is set to arrive on May 10 with the Season 3 Reloaded update.

Warzone Ranked Play has been in the works for some time now, and it’s finally nearing its debut. However, the devs are clearly looking to create a polished product and not rush the desired mode, which is why it’s launching in beta.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play Skill Rating system & Divisions

Warzone 2 Ranked Play features the familiar Skill Division and SR format.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play will feature Skill Divisions and Skill Rating, much like Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play. However, the devs confirmed that the progression system in Warzone 2 Ranked Play is entirely different from Modern Warfare 2’s competitive mode.

In addition, Warzone 2 players must be at least Level 45 to access Ranked Play.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play Skill Divisions

Here are the divisions and respective SR requirements in Warzone 2 Ranked Play:

  • Bronze: 0–899 SR
  • Silver: 900–2,099 SR
  • Gold: 2,100–3,599 SR
  • Platinum: 3,600–5,399 SR
  • Diamond: 5,400–7,499 SR
  • Crimson: 7,500–9,999 SR
  • Iridescent: 10,000 SR minimum
  • Top 250: 10,000+ SR

Every Warzone 2 player will start in Bronze and attempt to climb the Ranked Play ladder, “through winning matches, getting high placements, and earning eliminations.”

Much like Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, Warzone 2 players will get demoted at the start of a new Ranked Play season. You’ll start at the lowest Tier of the Division below the one you finished in at the end of the season: “a Gold III player at the end of Season 03 Reloaded will start Season 04 at Silver I.”

Keep in mind that Crimson, Iridescent, and Top 250 players will get knocked all the way down to Diamond I since it’s the highest position that players can start a new season.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play SR

Warzone 2 players will earn Skill Rating (SR) based on the following criteria: Placement, kills, assists, and kills by your squad.

Interestingly enough, the SR that Warzone 2 players will earn for kills and assists will vary based on how many squads remain in the match:

  • 21+ Squads Remaining: +5 SR per Elimination/Assist, +2 SR per Squadmate Elimination
  • 3–20 Squads Remaining: +7 SR per Elimination/Assist, +3 SR per Squadmate Elimination
  • 1–3 Squads Remaining: +15 SR per Elimination/Assist, +7 SR per Squadmate Elimination

Warzone 2 Ranked Play fans will also want to note that a Deployment Fee will be deducted from each player’s SR at the start of every match: “The higher the player’s Skill Division and Tier, the higher the Deployment Fee.”

  • Bronze I–III: No Deployment Fee
  • Silver I: –10 SR
  • Silver II: –14 SR
  • Silver III: –18 SR
  • Gold I: –23 SR
  • Gold II: –28 SR
  • Gold III: –33 SR
  • Platinum I: –39 SR
  • Platinum II: –45 SR
  • Platinum III: –51 SR
  • Diamond I: –58 SR
  • Diamond II: –65 SR
  • Diamond III: –72 SR
  • Crimson I: –80 SR
  • Crimson II: –90 SR
  • Crimson III: –100 SR
  • Iridescent and Top 250: –110 SR + 10 SR every 250 SR above 10,000 up to a max Deployment Fee of –210 SR

Warzone 2 Ranked Play rules & restrictions

When it comes to Warzone 2 Ranked Play rules, the devs stated that they plan on testing the initial set of rules present in the beta, before tweaking them and making necessary changes for the mode’s full launch.

Here are the set of rules players can expect in the Warzone 2 Ranked Play beta:

  • Party Size: Trios
  • Map: Al Mazrah
  • Game Mode: Battle Royale
  • Public Event restrictions (e.g. No Firesales)
  • Vehicle restrictions (e.g. No Heavy Choppers)

Will there be Warzone 2 Ranked Play rewards?

Yes, Warzone 2 Ranked Play will arrive with unique rewards that players will be able to secure by playing the competitive battle royale mode.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play rewards will be separate from those in Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play.

Warzone 2 players will earn rewards based on the Rank system, which is the number beside your Gamertag from 1 to 50. Every five Ranks, players will earn rewards in Warzone 2 Ranked Play. Your Rank will increase as you earn stars for completing matches.

Here’s the criteria for earning a star:

  • Top 25: 1 Star
  • Top 10: 2 Stars
  • 1st Place: 3 Stars

Warzone 2 Ranked Play fans will also get the chance to complete Placement and Eliminations challenges. Following the mode’s launch, we’ll provide an overview of the specific challenges.
