Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 has landed, bringing a host of gameplay tweaks to make the game feel faster and more fluid. Here’s a look at all the movement changes in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5.

The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 update is here, bringing a ton of new additions to both games. Players can begin unlocking the new FR Avancer Assault Rifle and .300 Carrack Sniper Rifle, as well as tackling the Faction Showdown event.

The devs have also tweaked the way both games feel, partly due to the buffs and nerfs to the game’s many weapons, but also the major movement updates included in the patch. Fans have complained that Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 feel too slow compared to previous entries, so this will come as a relief.

Here’s a look at all the movement changes in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5.

Every Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 movement change

As noted in the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 patch notes, players will be able to notice the following movement updates in-game:

  • Slide
    • Decreased slide time and increased slide velocity, so the Player covers the same distance in a shorter amount of time
    • Allowed the Player to fire slightly sooner after initiating a slide
  • Jump
    • Small increase to the lateral velocity boost while jumping
    • Small reduction to the landing slowdown penalty while landing

While none of these changes fundamentally change the ways the games are played, they should go a long way to making both Warzone and multiplayer feel faster-paced.

Movement has been a constant frustration for Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 players.

With slide canceling still not possible in either game, the decision to tweak sliding so that the same distance can be covered in a shorter time will open up the door for skilled players to outmaneuver their enemies. This is something that fans have claimed wasn’t possible prior to the update.

Allowing players to shoot earlier after sliding or jumping could also remove some of the penalties that used to come with trying to use movement to your advantage.

All-in-all, these movement changes should make traveling around the map and weaving during gunfights feel faster and smoother. Only time will tell how big the impact they will have on Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5, but they will most likely be seen as a step in the right direction by fans.
