The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 update brought plenty of content to both games, but it also overhauled the meta with some major weapon balancing changes. Here’s a complete breakdown of all weapon buffs and nerfs in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5.

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 is here, and fans of both games have plenty to get excited about. Battle royale players have the new Vondel Champion’s Quest to tackle, while multiplayer has been treated to a handful of fresh maps.

The devs have also taken the opportunity to revamp the meta across each title by introducing a host of new weapons, alongside balancing changes that look set to affect the popularity of a number of weapons.

Here are all the weapon buffs and nerfs introduced as part of the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 update.

Cronen Sqaull nerfed again in Warzone 2 & MW2 Season 5

The Cronen Squall has been a popular pick ever since it arrived in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

After dominating the long-range meta for weeks, the Cronen Squall has been hit with another major nerf in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5. The popular Battle Rifle has been on the receiving end of a number of changes, but the devs felt another nerf was required.

Following the Season 5 update, the Cronen’s maximum damage range has been decreased, alongside multiples when hitting an enemy in the torso, limbs, and neck. Only time will tell if this latest nerf opens the door for a new long-range king in Season 5.

The following weapon changes are applicable to Warzone only. While we are generally pleased with the state of Weapon balance in Warzone, our work is never done. Internal data has shown that the Cronen Squall is still performing better than we would like–enough so that it would restrict the pool of viable Weapons. Our main focus of these changes is and always will be to broaden gameplay options at every level of play. Not all Weapons have the potential to sit atop the charts–and that is okay. As long as those Weapons enable a playstyle or have a niche in which they can thrive, that is our goal. Below you will find changes that aim to level the playing field between some of the top and bottom performers.

Lastly, we are aware of concerns surrounding the Signal 50 in Warzone. While our data does not suggest the Signal 50 is out of the normal range in performance, its experiential impact for Players is equally important to us. At this time we do not feel it is necessary to make changes to the Signal 50, but we will continue to monitor the data and your feedback closely.
