The new Resurgence map, Ashika Island, for Warzone has been officially revealed, and Modern Warfare 2 players think one of the POIs would make for a perfect 6v6 multiplayer map.

The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update is set to be the biggest update in both games to date. After being delayed by two weeks, the patch is introducing major gameplay adjustments to the battle royale and bringing Hardcore mode back to Modern Warfare 2.

However, many fans have felt that the developers are favoring Warzone 2 over MW2 multiplayer, criticizing the lack of new game modes and fresh maps.

But following the reveal of the Resurgence map, Ashika Island, Modern Warfare 2 fans think they’ve spotted a POI that would make for an ideal 6v6 map in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

The devs initially revealed the Ashika Island map one location at a time, giving players an in-depth look at all of the major landing spots. Shortly after, CoD YouTuber TheXclusiveAce picked out the Town Centre POI, which he thought had all the makings of a great Modern Warfare 2 map.

“This section of the new Resurgence map looks like it could potentially work as a 6v6 map as well,” he said in a tweet.

The area has a fairly straightforward layout, containing mainly two large buildings with lanes on either side for flanking opportunities. Experts like FaZe Jev and other fans have compared the POI favorable to Raid from Black Ops 2.

Plenty of other Modern Warfare 2 players responded to the tweet, agreeing that Town Center has the right design and layout to be a 6v6 multiplayer map.

“And a REALLY good one if you ask me!” said popular Twitch streamer ApollosMission. “Easily and it doesn’t look bad. Looks like it could be a good time,” agreed fellow streamer Dysmo.

There were some reservations about directly ripping a POI from a battle royale map and placing it into multiplayer, but others felt that the devs could easily tweak it to make it more suitable for Modern Warfare 2.

“Wouldn’t mind it one bit,” said PeaceGuy420. “If it saves them development time and allows them to polish both the bigger map and a 6v6 map, it’s a win in my book.”

Infinity Ward are yet to reveal which multiplayer maps will be added in the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update, with fans already relieved to hear that Castle won’t be one of them. However, it sounds like the devs already have a popular multiplayer map right under their nose.
