Warzone players absolutely loved the fast-paced Resurgence maps and Warzone 2 will be receiving its own in Season 2. Here’s everything we know about Warzone 2’s Ashika Island Resurgence map including its release date, the tac map, and its inclusion in DMZ.

When Warzone 2 arrived on November 16, 2022, a barebones version of the original game was left behind. Stripped of the majority of modes, Warzone players were left without the fan-favorite Resurgence mode and its Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep maps. Without a small map in Warzone 2, players have been desperate to get their fast-paced battle royale fix.

Luckily, the devs have revealed the brand-new Resurgence map coming to Warzone 2, and it’s called “Ashika Island.” Here’s everything we know about Warzone 2’s Ashika Island map, including its release date, the POIs, and its arrival in DMZ.

Warzone 2 Ashika Island Resurgence map release date

Warzone 2’s first-ever Resurgence map will arrive with the Season 2 update on February 15, 2023. These updates usually arrive at around 9 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT but stay tuned for more information.

Call of Duty revealed the new map and released its official name on January 30, 2023, Ashika Island.

Warzone 2 Ashika Island Resurgence map & POIs

Warzone 2’s upcoming Ashika Island Resurgence map was officially revealed on January 31, 2023, showing a grassy island with POIs such as Tsuki Castle, Port Ashika, Town Center, and Beach Club.

Here are all of the POI names:

  • Residential
  • Shipwreck
  • Tsuki Castle
  • Port Ashika
  • Town Center
  • Oganikku Farms
  • Beach Club
Warzone 2’s Ashika Island brings the return of Castle.

According to the blog, Ashika Island is said to be located “somewhere in the APAC (Asia Pacific) region,” and is currently being “used as a hub for the Ultranationalist Konni Group, including the transportation of chemical and biological weapons.”

The new Resurgence map will hold around 50 players and will also feature in DMZ, it will not feature as a multiplayer map in Modern Warfare 2.

Leaks suggested that the new Ashika Island map would feature in DMZ, and this has been confirmed by the developers: “Drop into the new free-to-play Call of Duty #Warzone2 small map featuring Resurgence and DMZ gameplay on February 15.”

In their blog announcing the major changes coming to Warzone 2, Infinity Ward said that “a new Exclusion Zone” is arriving in Warzone 2. Exclusion Zones are the areas you load into, with Al Mazrah and Building 21 being the two available as of Season 1 Reloaded.

DMZ players will be able to head to the new Resurgence map which should have its own missions.
