Infinity Ward have confirmed that a new Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map will arrive in Season 2 Reloaded, and after just one teaser image fans are already in love with it.

Ahead of the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update, many players were disappointed with the roadmap of content outlined by the developers. Warzone 2 received the new Ashika Island Resurgence map and a whole host of quality-of-life changes, while MW2’s main additions were Ranked Play and the return of Hardcore.

The main source of frustration was the lack of new multiplayer maps, with only Dome and Museum being released in the update — both of which fans have played before.

However, the tide seems to be turning as Infinity Ward revealed a brand-new 6v6 map that’s set to arrive in the mid-season update, and players already can’t wait to play it.

The devs shared the first image of the new map in the Season 2 patch notes, showing off what appears to be a luxury spa surrounded by snowy mountains. It features a number of sleek, multi-leveled buildings made from wood and stone, as well as a swimming pool that seems to lead indoors.

The map wasn’t given an official name, but a sign from the teaser reading “Congress Spa” could be a good indicator of what it will be. Despite the lack of details, Modern Warfare 2 players have already begun heaping praise on the new arena.

In response to a Reddit post showing off the new map, one player said: “It looks gorgeous! I always love seeing the Pacific Northwest aesthetic in games, it’s so cozy and familiar. I definitely get Banff vibes from this map.”

“This map looks beautiful. And I have a soft spot for mansion/house type maps,” agreed another. “They seem to always play well.”

Many other players liked the look of the spa map, welcoming the different aesthetic compared to other Modern Warfare 2 maps.

“I don’t care how it plays, at least the f**king thing isn’t drab yellow desert colors. I will happily play it even if it is bad,” said one reply.

The Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded update is still weeks away, so there’s still some time to wait before players can drop in and see the new map for themselves. However, it’s promising to see such a positive response before it’s even in rotation.
