With the CDL Moshpit offering Modern Warfare 2 players a competitive experience before Ranked Play arrives, here are the best loadouts to use along with Perks and Equipment.

After a brief delay, the CDL Moshpit playlist made its way to Modern Warfare 2, offering players a competitive Call of Duty experience. While this is just a teaser for competitive CoD fans before Modern Warfare 2’s official Ranked Play arrives later in Season 2, it’s a great way to get accustomed to the CDL rules.

If you’re looking to dive right into CDL Moshpit, you’ll want to know which weapons, Perks, and Equipment to use. Luckily, we’ve compiled a guide that highlights the best CDL Moshpit loadouts in Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Reloaded.

Best Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit Primary weapons

CDL Moshpit features 4 vs 4 gameplay of Hardpoint, Control, and Search & Destroy. Your role on your team of four will largely depend on your choice of Primary weapon.

Assault Rifles are ideal to hold down lanes, while SMGs will make you the ideal candidate to break into contested Hardpoints.

Despite the role you aim to play, here are the best primary weapons for Modern Warfare 2’s CDL Moshpit.

M4 Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

m4 assault rifle in Modern Warfare 2
  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
  • Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel or 419mm EXF Barrel
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
  • Rear Grip: Xten Grip or Phantom Grip
  • Stock: Demo Precision Elite Factory or Tempus P80 Strike Stock

The M4 is regarded as the best Assault Rifle in Modern Warfare 2. It perfectly blends the firepower and range of a traditional Assault Rifle, with the speed and mobility of an SMG.

It has very few weaknesses and for this reason, players can opt for several different attachment setups. One of the choices you’ll have to make is the Hightower 20″ Barrel or the 419mm EXF Barrel. The latter has less of a negative impact on your ADS speed.

In a similar vein, the Phantom Grip will provide less recoil control than the Xten Grip, but better mobility and ADS speed.

Once again you’ll have your choice between the Tempus P80 Strike Stock, which provides increased mobility, or the Demo Precision Elite Factory, which offers superior control.

It all comes down to the type of M4 loadout you’re looking to create, between a fast and snappy one, or one that shoots incredibly straight. While the M4 was used at the start of the 2023 CDL season, it was quickly banned by pros. However, it can still be used in CDL Moshpit matches.

TAQ-56 Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

TAQ-56 in Modern Warfare 2
The TAQ-56 is the current AR used in CDL matches.
  • Muzzle: SAKIN Tread-40
  • Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip
  • Stock: TV Xline Pro

The TAQ-56 is a much easier Assault Rifle to control for those who prefer their long-range weapons to have a friendly recoil pattern.

As with any competitive Modern Warfare 2 weapon, mobility and fast ADS speed are vital. Therefore, the Demo Cleanshot Grip and TV Xline Pro will come in handy as they boost ADS speed amongst other mobility increases.

The TAQ-56 offers a ton of variation as well and you can swap around certain attachments., For example, High Velocity ammunition, the TV Cardinal Stock, and Comando Foregrip are also popular attachments for the TAQ-56.

Also, it’s important to note that pros are forced to use the 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel as a Gentlemen’s Agreement, but many CDL Moshpit enthusiasts agree that the weapon is better without a Barrel attachment.

Kastov-74u Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

Kastov-74u assault rifle in warzone 2
Modern Warfare 2’s Kastov-74u was banned by pro players, but you can still use it in CDL Moshpit.
  • Barrel: BR209 Barrel
  • Underbarrel: VX Pineapple
  • Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip
  • Stock: Otrezat Stock
  • Ammunition: 5.45 High Velocity

The Kastov-74u was quickly banned by CDL pros, but it remains in the official CDL ruleset. This means players can still use the powerful Assault Rifle in CDL Moshpit.

For starters, you’ll want to know that the Kastov-74u functions like an SMG instead of an Assault Rifle. Close-range engagements are this weapon’s forte and thanks to the True-Tac Grip, BR209 Barrel, and Otrezat Stock you’ll get your shots off first with incredible ADS speed.

STB 556 Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

STB Modern Warfare 2
  • Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
  • Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
  • Rear Grip: Q900 Grip
  • Stock: Bruen MX9 Stock
  • Comb: FTAC 11 Riser

The STB 556 joins the Kastov-74u as another weapon that has been banned by CDL pros. With the attachments above, you’ll be able to take advantage of its incredible TTK in CDL Moshpit.

Given the STB 556 excels at both close-range and long-range encounters, recoil control and mobility are equally as important. The Phase-3 Grip will increase the weapon’s recoil stabilization. Meanwhile, the Q900 Grip, Bruen MX9 Stock, and FTAC 11 Riser will all work toward improving the STB’s ADS speed and mobility.

Vaznev-9k Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

Vaznev 9k Modern Warfare 2
CDL matches feature the Vaznev-9k as the optimal SMG.
  • Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
  • Stock: Otrezat Stock
  • Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip

Alongside the Kastov-74u, the Vaznev is an extremely viable close-range weapon for SMG players to utilize in CDL Moshpit. The Bruen Pendulum will tame some of the weapon’s aggressive kick.

The Otrezat Stock will boost the weapon’s ADS speed, which is the key to this fast-paced SMG loadout.

As you may have noticed, we’ve only opted for four attachments due to the fact that a fifth would hurt some of the attributes we’re looking to boost with this weapon.

MCPR-300 Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

MCPR Sniper Modern Warfare 2
  • Ammunition: .300 Mag High Velocity
  • Magazine: 5 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Cronen Cheetah Grip
  • Stock: FSS Merc Stock

Thanks to its damage potential, the MCPR is one of the best Sniper Rifles to use in CDL Moshpit matches. For starters, the 5 Round Mag will make the Sniper lighter, which will increase its mobility and allow you to move faster.

The Cronen Cheetah Grip and FSS Merc Stock will allow you to ADS faster for those intense Search & Destroy moments in which a split second can cost your life.

L-AB 330 Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

LA-B 330 Sniper Rifle in Modern Warfare 2
  • Barrel: 23.5” Fluted R-67 Barrel
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt
  • Stock: ZLR T70 Pad Extension Stock

If you’re looking for an alternative to the heavy MCPR-300 Sniper Rifle, then you’ll want to check out the L-AB 330. This quick and snappy Sniper can prove to be a deadly option in the right hands when playing Search & Destroy.

Currently, CDL pros are split between both Snipers with those like OpTic Texas’ Indervir ‘iLLeY’ Dhaliwa favoring the L-AB 330.

Best Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit Secondary weapons

The list of CDL Moshpit secondary weapons is a brief one seeing as Launchers are banned as secondary weapons for the competitive mode. While a Handgun can provide the edge in certain gunfights, Melee weapons allow you to move around the map faster.

X12 Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit loadout

Modern Warfare 2 X12 Handgun
The X12 Handgun is the go-to Secondary for CDL Moshpit loadouts.
  • Muzzle: XRK Ventor-900
  • Trigger Action: XRK Ligting Fire
  • Rear Grip: Cronen Lima-6

The X12 is the favorite for the go-to Secondary weapon in Modern Warfare 2’s CDL Moshpit. It’s the quickest handgun available and for this reason, CDL pros have gravitated toward the weapon.

The XRK Lighting Fire will allow you to get off consecutive shots faster and showcase your trigger finger. Meanwhile, the Cronen Lima-6 and XRK Ventor-900 improve ADS speed and recoil control respectively.

CDL Moshpit Combat Knife Search & Destroy

The Combat Knife is highly recommended for players aiming to get to their preferred power positions in Search and Destroy as fast as possible. The Knife will work in tandem with Double Time to drastically increase your Tactical Sprint duration.

Best Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit Lethals & Tacticals

As for Lethals in CDL Moshpit, Modern Warfare 2 players will want to choose between a Frag Grenade or Semtex. The Frag can be devastating in Search & Destroy if you know the key spots to bank them off of. A Semtex is recommended for respawn modes like Hardpoint and Control due to their precision on any given objective point.

When it comes to Tacticals, the powerful Flash Grenade has been banned by CDL pros, but you can still equip it in CDL Moshpit. Aside from a Flash Grenade, the Stun and Smoke Grenades can also prove valuable depending on the situation.

Best Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit Perks

Modern Warfare 2 Perks
Modern Warfare 2 Perk Packages offer players a ton of utility in CDL Moshpit.

The CDL rules indicate that Ultimate Perks will not factor into competitive matches and this carries over to CDL Moshpit. Therefore players will opt for a combination of three Perks in the Modern Warfare 2 mode.

For the first two Perk slots, you’ll want to opt for two of the following three Perks: Double Time, Battle Hardened, and Bomb Squad. Battle Hardened and Bomb Squad are recommended for Hardpoint and Control, while Double Time should be equipped for S&D.

Fast Hands is the optimal choice when it comes to the Bonus Perk slot. While Fast Hands should be your primary choice, Focus can help with reducing weapon flinch on long-range AR loadouts.

Of course, Cold Blooded should only be equipped when an enemy player has earned a Killstreak.

Best Modern Warfare 2 CDL Moshpit Field Upgrades

Modern Warfare 2 players looking to play the CDL Moshpit mode can choose between Dead Silence and the Trophy System as their Field Upgrade of choice.

A well-balanced squad of four will want to have two players running Dead Silence and two players running the Trophy System. This is especially true in respawn modes. More players can opt for Dead Silence in Search & Destroy given the importance of not giving away your position in the mode.
