When will Ashika Island return in Warzone 2?

Warzone 2 Season 4 introduced the Vondel Resurgence map, replacing Ashika Island as the game’s smaller map. Thankfully, it’s not gone for good, so here’s when Ashika Island is coming back to Warzone 2.

The Warzone 2 Season 4 update brought the brand-new Vondel Resurgence map for players to get stuck into, along with the Assault on Vondel event to earn free rewards. Based on a mission from Modern Warfare 2’s campaign, this new map introduced some fresh landing spots and the High Stakes event.

But players will have noticed that to make way for Vondel’s arrival, Warzone 2’s first Resurgence map, Ashika Island, has been removed from the game. Ashika Island proved extremely popular after its launch, so it’s no surprise that fans are wondering when it will return.

Here’s when Ashika Island is coming back to Warzone 2.

Warzone 2 Ashika Island return date

Ashika Island will be added back to Warzone 2 on Wednesday, June 21, as confirmed by the devs in the Season 4 patch notes. On this date, a playlist update will add Ashika Island Quads back to the game, but there will be no option for Solos, Duos, or Trios.

Fans will be excited to hear that Vondel will also be sticking around after the update, so both Resurgence maps will be playable in Warzone 2 at the same time.

This isn’t the first time that two Resurgence maps have been in the mix, as the original Warzone had Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep. However, these two maps didn’t feature in-game at the same time and would rotate regularly.

It seems that the devs are taking a different approach in Warzone 2, with each playlist update bringing a mix of different playlists on both maps.

As the newer map of the two, Vondel will understandably take centerstage during Season 4, but players will be relieved to hear that they won’t have to wait too long before Ashika Island returns.
