Valorant console crossplay explained – Can I play with friends on PC?

The console version of Valorant allows PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players to join in on the action, after being exclusive to PC for years. Now that the game is in Open Beta for console, more players are getting to experience the title.

Does Valorant have crossplay between console & PC?

Valorant does not support crossplay between PC and console, meaning players on PC can’t play with or against players on the console version. However, the game does support crossplay between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XIS.

Players on console can team up or face off against each other, but PC users are on their own. The devs made this choice to maintain “competitive integrity,” which alludes to the different input methods – mouse and keyboard vs controller.

The game is suited to mouse and keyboard due to the emphasis on accuracy, and as controller players on the console version get aim assist, the devs clearly want to steer clear of any balancing issues or controversy.

Valorant cross-progression explained

Valorant supports cross-progression across PC and console. So, if you’re playing the game using a Riot account that’s linked to both versions, you can share progression and your inventory. The shared progression extends to account level, in-game currencies, unlocked Agents, skins, and Battle Pass progress.

It’s important to note that your progression in the Ranked mode will be different across platforms though, as you’ll have a separate rank and MMR when playing on console vs PC.
