Valorant has been at the forefront of global Esports for years, and Riot have finally decided to bring their competitive shooter to consoles beginning with a beta test.

Here’s all you need to know about the Valorant Console Open Beta, including how to download it, important dates, crossplay functionality, and more.

How to download Valorant Console Open Beta

  1. Head to your preferred platform store – PlayStation or Xbox.
  2. Search for Valorant.
  3. Hit Download.

Starting July 26, 2024, no more codes are needed to download and play the console beta.

The devs initially launched a limited beta with required codes to access, but almost a month later, they released the Console Open Beta for all players within selected regions.

Valorant Console Open Beta start date

The Valorant Console Open Beta went live on June 14 at around 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM BST, with full access arriving on July 26 for those who couldn’t get a code.

Riot haven’t confirmed when the beta will end. They’ll announce an end date once they feel “confident in where the game is.”

Valorant Console Open Beta platforms & regions

The Valorant Console Open Beta is only available on PS5 and Xbox Series XIS in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil regions.

The devs have provided no information on a potential PS4 or Xbox One release yet, although that seems highly unlikely.

Does Valorant Console Beta have cross-play?

The Valorant Console Beta allows cross-play between PlayStation and Xbox but excludes PC to preserve “competitive integrity.” However, you’ll share progression and your inventory across the PC and console versions if they’re linked to the same Riot account.

This means that the skins you’ve purchased on PC will carry over the console version. The same goes for any Agents you’ve already unlocked and your in-game currencies. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have all the agents unlocked.

It’s important to note that the Ranked system for both platforms will be different, and you’ll have separate rank and MMR when playing on either platform.
