The Finals building bug takes destructible environment too far

The Finals Destruction Mechanic

Embark Studios’ The Finals has scaled the environmental destruction mechanics up a notch, and now, a player has witnessed in awe the results of full-scale destruction, and it is skyrocketing.

A player has witnessed a The Finals bug that takes destructible environment up to the skies (pun intended) and has shared this clip with the community. It seems no one is safe from Embark Studios’ compromise on their “all destructible terrain” policy.

Buckle up, because you are about to witness one of the most hilarious and concerning bugs that the game has to offer. But is it a bug? Or is this part of The Finals’ charm?

Here’s what the community on Reddit is saying about this curious video and their opinion on The Finals’ environmental destruction mechanics.

Reddit user ‘Sanizoor’ posted: “The whole building went up.” And, as you can see in the video below, his statement is no exaggeration. You can see how the OP presses one of the elevator buttons (one of the many available in certain The Finals maps) and this takes the whole building structure up in the sky.

The Finals community immediately reacted to the OP’s post and had many varied opinions on this curious bug. One of them said: “This is some straight-up Matrix s**t. S**t like that honestly makes this game even more special.” Meanwhile, another player commented: “That was a true ‘Only in The Finals’ moment.”

One of the players, who is not concerned at all about this bug, said: “If this is a bug I hope they never fix it.” Meanwhile, another explained: “Looks like the goo on the elevator is what caught on the building and lifted it up.”

While many of the players agree that this is a bug, some others are still considering that the Goo (or Gunk), which is part of the game’s intended mechanics, stuck to the building base, thus making the elevator lift the whole building. Which is hilarious, but, at the same time, opens up the possibility for many exploits.

Exploits, bugs, and game errors are part of every Early Access (or Early Launches in this case) in the game industry, so we might just relax and wait until it is solved. Recently, even streamer Shroud called out for some much-needed game changes, so expect the devs to take this and many other errors seriously in future patches and fixes.

In the meantime, you can check this Light Build to take down your foes with ease. And if you are more accustomed to playing as a bulky tank, this Heavy Build will help you secure most objectives.
