The Finals from Embark Studios is gaining popularity at a steady pace, and while some players are eager to jump into the arena, others are finding reasons to complain. One of them is calling out for change after an ‘unfair’ suspension of their account due to faulty matchmaking.

Embark Studios’ latest FPS, The Finals, is gaining popularity as players fight their way through the Battle Pass content on offer. The mechanics are part of what makes the game so attractive to fans of online shooters, but also, the fast-paced competitive arenas are a major allure.

Competitive play is part of the attraction of this new FPS, and while The Finals Ranked matchmaking is still undergoing a rough Early Access Phase, many players are climbing up the ranks in order to position themselves as the best of the best.

However, one player had a matchmaking issue and ended up abandoning the match involuntarily. The game’s auto-ban system ended up penalizing this player, and they earned a suspension in the process.

Posted by ‘Horizon_Reddit’ on The Finals subreddit, the player explained the unfair suspension: “Should I really be f****g suspended from tournaments after I was put on a team with ZERO TEAMMATES?”

The game is still in its early stages and lacks some features like a rematch mechanic. Another of the players commenting on the OP’s situation had this to say about the game’s matchmaking system: “Agreed. When 1 teammate leaves you should be able to quit after 1 minute without any penalty, unless it’s your party member to avoid abuse.”

Another player also explained why The Finals might be avoiding adding a rematch feature to the Ranked Matchmaking: “It’s an unfortunate part of queuing into randoms. There aren’t many games that will compensate you for a teammate leaving because it is abusable.”

Players were slightly disappointed with the lack of matchmaking features in The Finals. Some other games have an automatic rematch system, as one of the members of the community stated: “Overwatch cancels the entire match if anyone leaves in the first minute. No vote or remake is necessary. It’s automatic.”
