Joining Ryujin Industries in Starfield involves passing an interview and doing a short quest called Back To The Grind, so here’s everything you should know about it.

Starfield has tons of side quests that will derail you from the main plot, and these are all equally intriguing. There are also mutliple factions you can join, who offer their own quests. Ryujin Industries is one such faction — a megacorporation with its headquarters in Neon. They’re a morally ambiguous faction, and their missions involve corporate espionage.

To join this faction, you need to fill out an application and successfully pass an interview. This is encountered during one of the earliest side quests you can do in Starfield, called Back To The Grind. So here’s how you complete this mission and join Ryujin Industries in Starfield.

How to complete Back To The Grind in Starfield and join Ryujin Industries

How to apply for Ryujin Industries

Here’s how you can apply to get employed at Ryujin Industries in Starfield:

  • You start Back To The Grind when you learn about employment for Ryujin Industries. Just walk past one of Ryujin Industries’ kiosks, where you will learn about recruitment.
  • Then, simply approach the kiosk and fill out the employment application form.
  • Don’t worry about the application as it has no right or wrong answers despite the extensive list of questions.
  • Your responses have no bearing at all on the outcome. For instance, if you choose the obviously harsher responses, you’ll simply be met with some hilarious responses.

Here’s one of the multiple questions you will answer when filling out your Ryujin Industries application.

How to pass the interview for Ryujin Industries

To ace the interview for Ryujin Industries in Starfield during Back To The Grind, here’s what you do:

  • To take the interview, you’ll need to reach level five. Once you do that, just fly to Neon and visit the Ryujin Industries headquarters.
  • Following your interaction with the receptionist, you will be directed to Imogen Salzo’s office for the interview; you’ll notice she’s not thrilled about it.
  • Your responses here, as with the application, have no bearing on the outcome. Even with the most uninteresting answers, Imogen will still offer you the job.
  • Your first official task with Ryujin requires you to pick up the senior executives’ order from Neon’s Terrabrew coffee shop.
  • Just when it couldn’t get more boring, however, you’ll meet a disgruntled ex-employee called Tomo who pulls out a gun on you. You can either talk him down or kill him instead.

Should you kill or persuade Tomo in Starfield?

Whether you decide to spare or kill Tomo in Starfield has no effect on the Ryujin Industries’ questline. So you can choose whichever option you feel is right. However, if you’re with a companion during the quest, their opinion of you could change depending on your actions.
