For those wondering if Starfield, Bethesda’s latest RPG, features microtransactions, here’s everything you need to know.

Starfield is Bethesda’s first new universe in 25 years, and it features an abundance of content that both Skyrim and Fallout fans will be highly familiar with. From a sprawling open world that sees players visiting countless planets to a comprehensive campaign with an intriguing story, Starfield has a lot to offer.

With so much content, some may be wondering if Starfield features microtransactions that allow players to speed up their progress and obtain cosmetics at the cost of real money, so here’s your answer.

Are there microtransactions in Starfield?

At the time of writing, there are no microtransactions in Starfield, as the only way to earn the in-game currency (Credits), new Spacesuits, and Ship Parts is through completing missions, looting, and various other gameplay methods.

You can not purchase Credits for real cash, or gain any other cosmetics or items through real currency, except if you purchase a special edition of Starfield that contains add-ons.

There are many items to purchase in Starfield with Credits, but most you can find.

That said, the game’s ESBR page does state that Starfield features “in-game purchases,” however, DLC falls under this category, so there’s a chance that this is referring to future downloadable content, which has already been confirmed by Bethesda.

Starfield’s first DLC will be called Shattered Space, and it will need to be purchased by players for them to experience it. If you purchased the Premium Edition of the game, then you will have access to the DLC at no extra cost.

That’s all on Starfield’s microtransactions. For more on Bethesda’s galactic RPG, check out:
