Tyrogue and its evolutions in Pokemon Go

While some Pokemon have very unique evolution methods, others have what’s known as branched evolutions. Baby Pokemon Tyrogue is one of them, and it must meet special requirements to evolve into either Himtonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop in Pokemon Go. Here’s everything you need to know.

Gen 2 of the Pokemon franchise introduced players to pre-evolution forms of fan-favorite creatures, also known as baby Pokemon. This changed the way fans saw some of their favorite Pokemon, and it also changed the way they could get them in the games.

The Scuffle Pokemon Tyrogue can evolve into three different Fighting-type Pokemon. However, players must meet certain requirements to get the evolution they’re after. In this article, we’ll cover how to evolve Tyrogue in Pokemon Go.

All Tyrogue evolutions in Pokemon Go

If you caught Tyrogue in Pokemon Go and you want to evolve it into either Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop, you’ll need to check its IVs. Tyrogue’s evolution isn’t random, but you can’t force it either by using a name trick. This means that all Tyrogue you catch have a set evolution, according to their stats.

So, if you gathered 25 Tyrogue Candy and hit the ‘Evolve’ button, you’ll get one of these Pokemon depending on the highest Tyrogue stat:

  • Attack: Hitmonlee
  • Defense: Hitmonchan
  • HP: Hitmontop

You can check Tyrogue’s IVs in Pokemon Go by tapping on the three lines at the bottom right corner of the screen and then tapping ‘Appraise’. There, you’ll be able to see clearly what stat is highest for the Tyrogue you caught. If there’s a tie between Tyrogue’s IVs, its evolution will be random.

If you’re wondering what the best Tyrogue evolution is, we have some bad news for you. Neither Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop excel at any of the Pokemon Go Battle League categories, so you’ll have much better luck with almost any other Fighting-type Pokemon.
