Since trainers can’t find Larvesta roaming in the wild, we’ll detail everything you need to know on how to get it, including how to evolve it into Volcarona, and shiny availability.

How to get Larvesta in Pokemon Go

Currently, the only way to get Larvesta in Pokemon Go is to hatch it from 2 km, 5 km, or 10 km Eggs. Unfortunately, hatching an Egg doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get Larvesta right away. The Egg pool for the season is still available, so players might need to hatch many Eggs before getting Larvesta.

Larvesta can’t be found in the wild, isn’t headlining any Raids, and isn’t part of the Field or Special Research rewards, which is very uncommon for a Pokemon Go debut. On top of that, the hatch rate is extremely low, making it the hardest Pokemon to get out of the entire pool.

How to evolve Larvesta into Volcarona in Pokemon Go

Trainers need to spend 400 Larvesta Candy to evolve it into Volcarona in Pokemon Go. While it’s a simple evolution method, the difficulty lies in Larvesta’s availability. Players can only get Larvesta through Eggs, so they’ll need to hatch a lot of Eggs to get those 400 Candy.

Since using Pinap Berries isn’t an option to catch Larvesta, the only useful tip to speed the process up is to set Larvesta as your Buddy. Unfortunately, Larvesta needs to walk 5 km to get one Candy, which is also very uncommon for a Pokemon with a 400 Candy evolution.

Can Larvesta and Volcarona be shiny in Pokemon Go?

Shiny Larvesta and shiny Volcarona aren’t available in Pokemon Go yet. Players will have to wait for another special event to get their hands on their shiny forms.

Of course, any Larvesta Candy players collect will help them evolve shiny Larvesta into shiny Volcarona when they become available in the game.
