The Lake Guardians are coming back to Pokemon Go in 5-Star Raids, so here’s everything you need to know about Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf’s Raids, including shiny chances, weaknesses, and best counters to pick.

Pokemon Go‘s main event for the Timeless Travels Season has arrived, and players participating in the Sinnoh Go Tour event have a lot of chances to get unusual and strong Pokemon. Among the 5-Star Raids the Gen 4 Legendary Pokemon Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are a top priority for most of the fans.

If you’re looking to add the Lake Guardians to your Pokedex, here’s everything you need to know about their Raids, including weaknesses, best counters, and shiny availability.

How to get Uxie, Mesprit & Azelf in Pokemon Go

Players can get Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf by encountering them in the wild during the Sinnoh Go Tour Global Event or by defeating them in their 5-Star Raids and catching them afterward. The Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf 5-Star Raids will take place from February 21 to February 22, 2024 in Pokemon Go.

The Lake Guardians are some of the few Legendary Pokemon that can spawn in the wild, but their appearances are extremely rare.

The Lake Guardians can also appear in the wild.

Keep in mind that usually, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are region-exclusive Pokemon. This means that players are only able to encounter one of the three in their area.

Uxie will headline Raids in the Asia-Pacific region, Mesprit will appear in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, and Azelf in the Americas and Greenland.

To capture all three Lake Guardians, players need to be invited to Raids happening in a different region and use Remote Raid Passes.

Can Uxie, Mesprit & Azelf be shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, shiny Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are available in Pokemon Go, so players eager to get them should keep an eye out.

As usual, the shiny rate for these Legendary Pokemon is very low, so players might have to participate in many Raids to get one. But if trainers encounter one, they should feel really lucky, as shiny Raid Pokemon have a 100% catch rate.

All Uxie, Mesprit & Azelf weaknesses in Pokemon Go

The three Lake Guardians – Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf – are pure Psychic-type Pokemon, which means they’re weak against Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type attacks. On the other hand, their type makes them resistant to Fighting and Psychic-type moves.

On top of their Psychic-type moves, keep in mind that Uxie can know an Electric-type move, Mesprit can use an Ice-type attack, and Azelf can hit you with a Fire-type attack. So, you should avoid bringing any Pokemon that are weak against those categories.

Best counters for Uxie, Mesprit & Azelf Raids in Pokemon Go

The best counter for Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf Raids in Pokemon Go is Mega Houndoom, with Snarl as Fast Move and Crunch as Charged Move.

Mega Houndoom is the best counter for Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf Raids.

But since Raids teams need to have at least six Pokemon, we also reccomend you bring:

  • Gengar, with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball.
  • Banette, with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball.
  • Absol, with Snarl and Dark Pulse.
  • Scizor, with Fury Cut and Iron Head.
  • Chandelure, with Fire Spin and Shadow Ball.

It’s recommended to face these 5-Star Raids with at least four high leveled trainers, but they can also be attainable with a group of 7 to 10 lower-level Pokemon Go players with the right counters. While you might see other users defeating this kind of Raid on their own, we recommend going at it with some backup.

That’s all you need to know to get Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf in Pokemon Go. For more Pokemon content, check out our other guides:
