Regigigas in Pokemon Go

Regigigas is back in 5-Star Pokemon Go Raids after a long time and players have a new chance to get a powerful and very sought-after Legendary Pokemon. Here’s everything you need to know, including weaknesses, shiny chances, and best counters.

The Pokemon Go Raid rotation brought back the very requested Gen 4 Legendary Regigigas after a two-year-long absence. Players can tackle a tough Raid for a chance to catch this powerful Pokemon before the Rising Heroes season ends.

Here’s everything there’s to know about Regigiga’s 5-Star Raids, including weaknesses, counters, and shiny availability.

How to get Regigigas in Pokemon Go

The only way to get Regigigas in Pokemon Go is by defeating it in its 5-Star Raid and catching it afterward. This is a great chance for players looking to complete the Titan collection with a new addition.

Some Legendary Pokemon return to the game after a while with easier challenges or special events, but this is the only way to get Regigigas at the moment. The last time the Legendary Pokemon was featured was in the Pokemon Go Fest 2021 event.

The Regigigas 5-Star Raids are taking place from May 24 to June 1 in Pokemon Go.

Can Regigigas be shiny in Pokemon Go?

Shiny Regigigas is available in Pokemon Go, so players hunting for shiny legendaries should keep an eye out.

As usual, the shiny spawn rate for this Legendary Pokemon is still very low, so trainers might have to participate in many Raids to get one.

All Regigigas weaknesses & best counters

Regigigas is a Normal-type Pokemon, which means it’s only weak against Fighting-type moves. In mainline games, this makes it immune to Ghost-type attacks as well. However, keep in mind that there are no immunities in Pokemon Go, so Regigigas can resist Ghost-type moves.

Whatever the type combination, it’s recommended to face 5-Star Raids with at least four high leveled trainers. Victory can also be attainable with a group of 7 to 10 lower-level Pokemon Go players with the right counters. While you might see other users defeating this kind of Raid on their own, we recommend going at it with some backup.

Also, note that Regigiga’s moveset in Pokemon Go can be extremely varied and cover almost all possible types, so you should focus on doing damage quickly.

With all that in mind, some of the best counters for this Raid include Terrakion, Lucario, Conkeldurr, Machamp, Breloom, Blaziken, Sirfetch’d, Medicham, and Heracross. Just make sure you focus their movesets on Fighting-type attacks to deal super-effective damage.

You’re more than ready to face Regigigas in a Raid. For more Pokemon content, check out our other guides:
