Elite Raids are back in Pokemon Go and they feature debuting Legendary Pokemon Regidrago and Regieleki. Players have to pick their strongest Pokemon to take on these challenges during the Rising Heroes season in Pokemon Go.

In this article, you’ll find everything you need to know about the upcoming Regidrago and Regieleki Elite Raids, including dates and best counters.

Regidrago & Regieleki Pokemon Go Elite Raids dates

The second Regidrago Elite Raids in Pokemon Go will take place on Sunday, May 13, 2023, at the following times:

  • 11 AM local time
  • 2 PM local time
  • 5 PM local time

All players will earn access to two exclusive Timed Researches that will reward players with Regirock Candy, Regice Candy, and Registeel Candy.

Regieleki already headlined Elite Raids on April 9, 2023.

What are Elite Raids in Pokemon Go?

Elite Raids are a difficult type of Raid Battle players can challenge in Pokemon Go. Elite Raid Eggs take 24 hours to hatch and let players battle the boss for only 30 minutes. It’s recommended to tackle these Raids with a group of at least seven high-level trainers.

These Raids can only be completed in person, so players in remote or rural areas can’t use Remote Raid Passes to participate. Players who beat these Elite Raids will get a chance to catch Regidrago and Regieleki.

Both Regidrago and Regieleki are debuting in Pokemon Go through these Elite Raids so this is the only way to get them at the moment. It’s unknown if they’ll be back for another event in the future.

Regidrago headlined returning Elite Raids on May 13, 2023.

Best counters for Regidrago Elite Raids in Pokemon Go

As a pure Dragon-type Pokemon, Regidrago is weak against Dragon, Fairy, and Ice-type moves. However, the Legendary Pokemon is resistant to Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water-type attacks. With a massive HP of 400, it won’t be easy to take it down.

The Dragon Orb Pokemon has Bite (Dark) as its Fast Move and can have either Hyper Beam (Normal), Outrage (Dragon), or Dragon Pulse (Dragon) as its Charged Move.

Although you could play it safe with Ice and Fairy-type Pokemon, we recommend tackling this Elite Raid with Dragon-type Pokemon. It’s a high-risk high-reward situation since Dragon types are weak against other Dragon-type moves, but you’ll need to deal massive damage to Regidrago if you want to take it down.

With that in mind, the list of best counters to defeat Regidrago includes many Legendary Pokemon that are up to the task. You could go with Dialga, Garchomp, Zekrom, Rayquaza, Palkia, Reshiram, Salamence, Haxorus, Kyurem, Zacian, Mamoswine, Gardevoir, or Dragonite for the best results. Even Primal Groudon with Dragon Tail as its Fast Move could work wonders.

Regieleki will debut in Pokemon Go on April 11, 2023.

Best counters for Regieleki Elite Raids in Pokemon Go

Regieleki is a pure Electric-type Pokemon, which means it’s only weak against Ground-type moves. On the other hand, it can resist Flying, Steel, and other Electric-type attacks.

The Galar Legendary can have either Lock-On (Normal) or Thunder Shock (Electric) as its Fast move. The Charged Move could be Thunder (Electric), Hyper Beam (Normal), or Zap Cannon (Electric).

Ground-type Pokemon will shine in this Elite Raid, which means Groudon, Primal Groudon, Mamoswine, and Garchomp are great options for this challenge. Excadrill, Rhyperior, Krookodile, and Landorus are also great contenders for stopping Regieleki.

That’s all you need to know about the upcoming Elite Raid in Pokemon Go featuring Regidrago.
