How to get Master Ball in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The Master Ball has always been an important element in every Pokemon game and one that’s perfect for catching Legendary Pokemon. Trainers should always know how to get it, and when to use this precious item. Here’s a guide on how to get a Master Ball in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The Master Ball has been a part of the Pokemon series since Generation 1 and it is without a doubt the most powerful Pokeball available to trainers. The illustrious Master Ball has a perfect catch rate, allowing players to catch any Pokemon without fail.
The Master Ball in Scarlet and Violet is certainly powerful, but as with any other Pokemon title, there’s only one in the entire game. Once you get your hands on it you’re going to want to use it wisely.
Here’s how to get the Master Ball in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Where to get Master Ball in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players must complete ‘The Way Home’ post-game story to obtain the Master Ball.
Access to The Way Home plot only arrives once players defeat the Scarlet and Violet main game. This means players have to defeat the Elite Four, beat every Titan Pokemon, and conquer all of the Team Star bases in Paldea.
The Way Home story sends trainers to the Great Crater of Paldea, where they’ll encounter Scarlet and Violet Paradox Pokemon. Once this journey is complete, you’ll wake up in the Academy dorm room and Director Clavell will hand you the one Master Ball in the game.
Best Pokemon for Master Ball in Scarlet Violet

- Wo-Chien
- Chien-Pao
- Ting-Lu
- Chi-Yu
- Koraidon/Miraidon
Given that you can only use the Master Ball once, you’re going to want to save it for one of the Scarlet and Violet Legendary Pokemon. We recommend using it on one of the Ruinous Quartet who are incredibly powerful in their own right.
Alternatively, Koraidon and Miraidon are not version exclusives and you’ll get a chance to catch the one that isn’t on the cover of your game once you’ve completed “The Way Home” storyline. Saving the Master Ball for this unique encounter is also a great idea.
