Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero content

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, is divided into two parts but has an interconnected story with new characters and Pokemon.

The Teal Mask DLC Part 1, was released on September 13 and it featured a story about a school trip to Kitakami Island. The Indigo Disk DLC Part 2, will be coming on December 14 and will take us on a journey to Blueberry Academy.

The Teal Mask

The Teal Mask lets players explore the land of Kitakami, just outside of Paldean borders. An outdoor study program held jointly between their academy and another school is the setting of this new adventure.

Players can meet new friends and Pokemon as they unravel the mysteries behind the folktales that have been passed down in this land in the middle of a huge festival. The Teal Mask introduced players to the new Legendary Pokemon Ogerpon as well as three new Pokemon named Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, also known as the Loyal Three.

Dipplin is the new evolution of the Applin family.

Players can find Pokemon that aren’t available in Paldea when they explore the land of Kitakami. Among many returning and fan-favorite Pokemon, a new addition to the Pokedex is Dipplin, a new evolution of Applin.

The Teal Mask also introduced players to Perrin, a photographer looking for a certain Pokemon. Trainers can take pictures of Pokemon in the wild to complete objectives and help her with her mission. Additionally, new camera angles were added to capture the beauty of Kitakami and its festival.

Lastly, players can also get Mochi, a new consumable that can improve Pokemon stats with different effects. New mini-games are spread around Kitakami for players to complete and earn delicious Mochi for their Pokemon, so be on the lookout.

In Part Two of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, players will travel to their academy’s sister school, the Blueberry Academy, as an exchange student. This school was founded in recent years and specializes in Pokemon battles, so players can expect a lot of action from this storyline.

The Indigo Disk will let players get to know students and teachers while taking new classes with exciting twists. However, the main attraction at the Blueberry Academy will be the BB League, a competitive league that will introduce players to a new Elite Four group.

Players will also be able to spend time at the League Club, a new customizable area inside the Blueberry Academy. The League Club will let players change their Poke Ball throw style as well as meet Gym Leaders and other trainers who can be their mentors through teaching and battles.

The turtle Pokemon Terapagos will finally debut in the Indigo Disk and it’s expected to have a special connection to the Terastallization phenomena introduced in Scarlet and Violet.

With The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, players will be able to encounter over 230 familiar Pokemon that have been found living in other regions but which had not appeared in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, according to the official announcement.

This includes Pokemon that players will be able to get via the Pokemon Home app and trades. You can check out all the new and returning Pokemon.

A lot of those Pokemon will appear in the Terrarium, a new underwater facility that’s part of the Blueberry Academy. According to the official description, “the Terrarium is made up of four areas, each of which features a unique climate and ecosystem.” With an artificial sky and regulated temperatures, players can expect a whole new map to explore and many Pokemon to encounter.
