Pokemon Home is an official app that comes with a host of features for current Pokemon games. Though there are different uses for Pokemon Home, it’s mainly meant for transferring Pokemon between different games in the franchise.

You can download the app on mobile devices or the Nintendo Switch to easily transfer your favorite Pokemon. With the arrival of the Indigo Disk DLC in December 2023, players want to know how they can connect Pokemon Home with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

What is Pokemon Home?

Pokemon Home is an app that allows players to transfer Pokemon between compatible games.

The Pokemon Company created Pokemon Home so that species from various generations can follow players from game to game. This gives players additional incentive to train up and nurture Pokemon as they can stick with them from one game to the next.

As previously mentioned, the app is available on either mobile devices or the Nintendo Switch. Pokemon Home is great for keeping all of your Pokemon in one place. You can keep track of them and decide which ones to transfer over with ease.

Pokemon Home also comes with other great features, like the ability to trade with other trainers and view your Pokemon’s battle data.

Is Pokemon Home compatible with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

Yes, The Pokemon Company finally brought Pokemon Home compatibility to Scarlet and Violet in June 2023. Players can reunite with their beloved species included with the Teal Mask DLC and The Indigo Disk DLC.

Players can transfer Pokemon found in Scarlet and Violet as well as bring Pokemon from previous generations and other games to the latest adventure in the franchise.

It was confirmed that the Tera Type of Pokemon moved to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is “determined by their original type or types.”

Additionally, the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Home added the Move Relearner feature. This allows trainers to bring back moves their Pokemon learned in previous games. This is only possible with moves that can be learned in Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Last but not least, fans can finally get Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by transferring it from Pokemon Go.

How to transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Home to Scarlet & Violet

  1. Open Pokemon Home on the Switch or your mobile device.
  2. Select Pokemon on the main screen.
  3. Select the save file and game you’d like to transfer from.
  4. Move the Pokemon you want to transfer to the desired box.
  5. Click the + button on the Switch to confirm the changes.

You’ll want to keep in mind that only Pokemon that are compatible with Scarlet and Violet can be transferred over from Pokemon Home.

The Indigo Disk introduced a new array of Pokemon available to be added via Pokemon Home.

It is also worth mentioning that certain Pokemon, particularly Mythical and Legendary Pokemon, require you to pre-register them in-game (either by event or trade) before you can transfer them from Pokemon Home to Scarlet and Violet. Examples of this are Magearna, Rayquaza, Uxie, Mew, and Lugia.

Is Pokemon Home Online?

Yes, Pokemon Home Online services are currently online.

The last maintenance ended on January 12th. This maintenance added functionality for the Mochi Mayhem Epilogue of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet featuring Mythical Pokemon Pecharunt.
