HoYoverseHoYoverse teased another powerful five-star character coming to Honkai Star Rail, so here’s everything we know about Huohuo, including her official release date, leaked abilities, and more.
Once players set foot in the world of Honkai Star Rail, they’ll meet a wide array of characters with different playstyles and abilities. Thanks to Genshin Impact, we know there’s no such thing as too many characters, so HoYoverse fans can expect the cast of heroes to expand with every new update.
While players keep enjoying the 1.4 version of Honkai Star Rail, update 1.5 is right around the corner, so here’s everything we know about Huohuo, including her release date, abilities, official trailer, and more.

Who is Huohuo in Honkai Star Rail?
In Honkai Star Rail, Huohuo is described as “a pitiable and helpless Foxian girl who is also a Ten-Lords Commission Judge-in-training.” She’s a five-star Wind element character in the Path of The Abundance, which means she’ll be a new healer.
Regarding Honkai Star Rail lore, “she fears demons and heliobi, but contrarily is tasked with their capture and entrusted with the heavy task of eradicating vile spirits.” Additionally, she was cursed and now attracts inhuman beings thanks to a heliobus sealed in her tail.
Huohuo release date in Honkai Star Rail
Huohuo will debut in Honkai Star Rail with the first phase of the 1.5 update on November 15.
She’ll debut alongside Argenti and Hanya and she’ll be the main attraction in a new special event in HoYoverse’s RPG.
Honkai Star Rail Huohuo leaked abilities
Trusted leaker ThorisIlian shared Huohuo’s skills and abilities in Honkai Star Rail, so we have an idea of the kind of character she’ll be. Below you’ll find all of Huohuo’s abilities in the game, but keep in mind that none of this information has been officially confirmed by HoYoverse yet.
- (Basic ATK) – Deals Wind DMG to a single target enemy.
- Soul Talisman: Life-saving Protection (Skill) – Heals a single ally for a large amount of HP, and adjacent allies for a smaller amount of HP based on Huohuo’s ATK stat.
- Tail: Exorcising Ghosts and Summoning Spirits (Ultimate) – Restores energy to all allies except for Huohuo. Additionally, increases ATK of all allies for two turns.
- Attachment: Qi Channels Open to the Heavens (Talent) – After casting a Skill, HuoHuo obtains the [Lives of the sacrifice] effect. While in that state, all party members restore HP at the start of each turn. This effect lasts for a certain number of turns. On the other hand, after casting her Ultimate, HuoHuo obtains the [Spiritual Experience] effect. While in that state, all party members will restore Energy based at the start of each turn. This effect lasts for a certain number of turns.
- Fierce Demon: Oppressing and Subduing Evil Spirits (Technique) – Huohuo intimidates surrounding enemies, causing them to flee in the opposite direction. After attacking, enemies in the “Dispersed Soul” state have their ATK decreased.
On top of this interesting kit, leaks also suggest Huohuo will have a powerful synergy with characters in the Path of The Erudition. We’ll make sure to update this section if new details arise.
HoYoverseHuohuo leaked Light Cone in Honkai Star Rail
Like all five-star characters in Honkai Star Rail, Huohuo will debut alongside her own Light Cone. While HoYoverse haven’t yet revealed any official information, leakers shared the following effects:
Night of Fright
Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 12%. Additionally, when any ally uses their Ultimate, restores HP to them equal to 18% of their Max HP. Then, when the wearer provides healing for allies, increases the healed ally’s ATK. This effect can stack up to five times and lasts for two turns.
While this Light Cone works extremely well with Huohuo’s abilities, it’ll be a very sought-after asset for any character in the Path of The Abundance.

On November 10, just days before Huohuo’s debut in Honkai Star Rail, HoYoverse shared an official trailer for the character. Players can see a bit about Huohuo’s frightened personality alongside what’s to come with the horror-themed event that will start on November 15.
