While players are still enjoying its version 1.5 update, devs have already teased what’s coming for the game before the year ends, including powerful playable characters.

Who is Ruan Mei in Honkai Star Rail?
In Honkai Star Rail, Ruan Mei is a scholar and expert in the biological sciences. She’s Member #81 of the Genius Society, and players already interacted with her while exploring the Simulated Universe. Ruan Mei is responsible for designing the Aeon simulations, but she also has many hobbies, like embroidery.
Regarding her gameplay, Ruan Mei is an upcoming five-star Ice element character in the Path of The Harmony. Characters in this Path are support characters that provide different buffs to allies.

Ruan Mei will debut in Honkai Star Rail with the version 1.6 update, meaning she’ll arrive on December 27, 2023 with her own banner.

While Honkai Star Rail players have to wait to see Ruan Mei in action, reputable leakers already shared some of her abilities on Reddit. Keep in mind that none of this has been confirmed by HoYoverse yet, and it might change the closer we get to her official release.
- Basic ATK: Deals Ice DMG to a single enemy.
- Skill: Increase Ruan Mei’s SPD and all allies’ SPD by a different amount, which lasts for a certain amount of turns.
- Ultimate: Buff all allies for a number of turns. The Weakness Break Efficiency of all allies buffed with the enchantment increases, and when the Weakness shield of an enemy target is broken, it will be afflicted with ‘Broken Plum Blossoms.’ This effect will be activated when the enemy target recovers from Weakness Break, extending their Weakness Break and delaying their action. On top of that, it deals Ice DMG. It’s important to note that ‘Broken Plum Blossoms’ cannot be afflicted onto an enemy target before they recover from Weakness Break.
- Talent: When an ally hit an enemy with Weakness Break, damage dealt will be increased.
- Technique: All allies’ ATK increases at the start of the next battle, lasting for a certain amount of turns.
These leaked abilities have fans excited for Ruan Mei’s debut. She looks like a really powerful support character since she can buff allies at the same time she applies DoT (Damage over Time) to enemies. For players who like to focus on elements and Weakness Break, Ruan Mei sounds like the perfect addition to their teams.

Increases the wearer’s ATK. Additionally, after casting skill, if the SPD of an ally is over 100, also increases their DMG. This effect can be stacked a number of times and lasts for a certain amount of rounds.
