V Rising Blood Essence

Stunlock Studios’ vampire survival ARPG is all about getting the resources you need to maintain and upgrade your domain, so getting Blood Essence is crucial. Here’s everything you need to do about it in V Rising.

V Rising asks players to roam around Vardoran while they rebuild their vampire domain. To do so, you’ll need to collect vital resources such as Blood Essence to establish and protect your castle.

If you’re wondering how to get every type of Blood Essence in V Rising, here’s everything you need to know.

What is Blood Essence in V Rising?

In V Rising, Blood Essence is a resource you’ll find by killing almost all enemies. You can use Blood Essence (and its superior forms) to restore your health, power your Castle Heart, craft stations, and even build furniture.

As you level up, you’ll need to use Greater and Primal Blood Essence to sustain your gear and items.

How to get Blood Essence in V Rising

To get Blood Essence in V Rising, you’ll need to find and kill enemies roaming around the world of Vardoran. If you defeated an enemy, and you see an icon appear above it that says “+ Essence”, you can swiftly farm it.

You can also get Blood Essence by putting 4 rats in a Blood Press, which you’ll be able to build near a Castle Heart after combining 12 Planks and 120 Stones.

How to make Greater Blood Essence in V Rising

If you’re looking to get Greater Blood Essence in V Rising, there are a couple of methods you can follow:

  • Look for enemies for Level 20+. While it’s a small chance, they can drop Greater Blood Essence.
  • Craft Greater Blood Essence in the Blood Press. You’ll need to first kill Tristan the Vampire Hunter (Level 46) to get the recipe, and to use it you’ll need to gather 4 Unsullied Hearts or 200 regular Blood Essence.

Greater Blood Essence can’t be used as Castle Heart fuel, but it’s essential as a building material and upgrade resource.

How to get Primal Blood Essence in V Rising

Primal Blood Essence is the hardest to obtain in V Rising, but you can craft it after defeating Jade the Vampire Hunter (Level 62). After getting the recipe, you can craft it using the Blood Press and four Exquisite Hearts, or 12 Greater Blood Essence.
