The Performance Mode in FF7 Rebirth can be accessed by heading into Options from the main menu and then selecting Graphics. This mode aims to deliver 60 FPS at a resolution that typically hovers around 1440p.

It achieves this target by cutting down on visual fidelity in various areas. When compared to the 4K/30FPS Graphics Mode, there’s a noticeable drop-off in image quality, especially while spotting distant objects. The overall image is visibly softer, and the resolution can also drop down to 1080p on the Performance Mode.

In terms of stability, the PM manages to stick to its 60 FPS target for the most part, but it runs into hiccups when a ton of particle effects take over the screen. This leads to a spike in frames-per-second, and in these situations, it can drop to 50.
