How to get Pacts to activate Vampiric Powers

In Diablo 4 Season 2, Armor pieces such as Helm, Chest, Armor, Boots, Pants, and Gloves can drop with a random number of Pacts and you can also get the consumable stand-alone pacts through Blood Harvest events, season journey rewards, Opulent Coffins, and enemy drops. Do note that Pacts do not appear on weapons or Gems.

Pacts are assigned randomly to Armor items, and the maximum number of Pacts on gear depends on its rarity:

  • Regular gear can have a maximum of three Pacts.
  • Sacred gear can have a maximum of four Pacts.
  • Ancestral gear can have a maximum of five Pacts.

To alter the number of Pacts on an Armor item, you can simply head to your inventory and add Pacts by selecting the desired stand-alone Pact and placing it on the item. This is similar to placing Gems on gear. However, it is crucial to know that a gear item can only have one type of Pacts on it meaning that you can add Ferocity Pacts to items that already have a Ferocity Pact.

An Alechmist can customize the effects of Cleansing Acid for Pacts.

To change the type of Pacts on an Armor item, you’ll require another item called the Cleansing Acid.

What is Cleansing Acid in Diablo 4 Season 2?

Cleansing Acid in Diablo 4 Season 2 is a seasonal consumable that lets you remove all the Pacts from an Armor and place stand-alone Pacts. Using a Cleansing Acid is simple, just select it and place it on the Armor item you want to cleanse.

How to upgrade Vampiric Powers in Diablo 4 Season 2

You can upgrade Vampiric Powers in Diablo 4 Season 2 by spending Potent Blood. You can get the item easily through Blood Harvest events featuring Blood Seekers and Vampiric Monsters that drop Potent Blood.

How to use Potent Blood

Open the Sanguine Circle UI in the character menu of Diablo 4 and at the bottom, you’ll find an option to spend Potent Blood on Vampiric Powers. Interestingly, three random Vampiric Powers will appear and you can spend Potent Blood to either unlock or upgrade them. If you close the UI without selecting a Power, the game automatically upgrades a Vampiric Power.

Although you don’t have complete freedom to choose the Vampiric Powers you upgrade or unlock, Potent Blood is fairly easy to obtain and you should be able to get the desired Powers following a few hours of grinding.
