Here’s everything to know about the cosmetic rewards, price, length, and unlock requirements of the Diablo 4 Battle Pass.
Diablo 4 was released with several new features such as mounts, Altars of Lilith, Strongholds, and non-linear campaign. Unsurprisingly, the game also has a new seasonal play model which includes elements such as the Battle Pass.
Diablo 4 developers have already assured players that the Season 1 Battle Pass won’t be pay-to-win but the community is curious about a lot more than that. There are three different types of Battle Pass, one free and two paid, each with its unique set of rewards.

The Battle Pass in Diablo 4 is a three-month-long progression system that grants you cosmetic rewards and premium currency for playing the game and completing the pre-decided Season Journey challenges.
How much does the Diablo 4 Battle Pass cost?
The Diablo 4 Battle Pass will be available in three purchase options:
Free Battle Pass
The free Battle Pass in Diablo 4 will have 27 tiers and the best rewards you can get from this include Smoldering Ashes and cosmetics. Interestingly, Smoldering Ashes aren’t available in the paid Battle Pass which means that everyone will have to complete the same quests to get these ashes.
Smoldering Ashes in Diablo 4 can be exchanged for XP, Gold, Obols, and other valuable resources.
Premium Battle Pass
The Premium Battle Pass in Diablo 4 costs $10. It has 63 tiers and offers some premium rewards such as Coldiron Armor set and weapon transmog.
Accelerated Battle Pass
The Accelerated Battle Pass in Diablo 4 costs $25 and offers everything that the Premium Battle Pass does. Additionally, you immediately unlock 20 tiers and the On the Warpath emote.

It is important to note that Smoldering Ashes in Diablo 4’s Battle Pass will be free for all players because they affect gameplay. The developers have confirmed that you’ll spend money only on cosmetic items and there won’t be any pay-to-win elements.
How to unlock the Diablo 4 Battle Pass
While you can progress the Diablo 4 Battle Pass without completing the campaign, seasonal elements like Malignant foes will require you to complete the main story. Once you’ve defeated Lilith, the game will give you the option to skip the campaign for new characters.
Players who’ve purchased the Diablo 4 Deluxe or Ultimate Edition will get the Season 1 Premium Battle Pass for free while others will have to purchase it.

The Diablo 4 Battle Pass will require players to make a new seasonal character as their character in the Eternal realm cannot progress in seasonal content. Once the season ends, the progress you’ve made with the seasonal character transfers to the characters in the Eternal realm.
Additionally, playing the campaign with your seasonal character will also progress the Battle Pass and season journey, according to Diablo’s General Manager at Blizzard, Rod Fergusson on Twitter.
Hey Paul, yes to take part in the seasonal questline, mechanics, season journey and battle pass, you will need to create a new seasonal character. Playing campaign with seasonal character (if you so desire or need to finish) will also progress the season journey and battle pass.

How long to complete the Diablo 4 Battle Pass
While talking to PC Gamer, the associate director for Diablo 4, Joe Piepiora revealed that the Battle Pass will almost take 80 hours to complete. He added that if your goal is to level up the seasonal character to level 100, the process can be lengthier.
