Diablo 4 Season of Blood introduced Patch 1.2.0 which overhauled almost every dynamic of Sanctuary. The Renown system has also gotten several changes that reduced the grind for points for every seasonal character. Here’s everything you need to know about Renown changes in Diablo 4 Season 2.

Diablo 4 Season 2 has rolled out a much-needed change to many of Diablo 4’s mechanics. From class balance updates to new gameplay dynamics, the changes made to the Renown system are crucial for seasonal characters.

The Renown system rewards players for exploring and completing various tasks in every region of Sanctuary. During Diablo 4 Season 1, Renown points from the Eternal Realm weren’t transferred and players had to redo some activities again to farm points.

After many requests from fans, Blizzard decided to make some long-awaited changes to the Renown system in Diablo 4 Season of Blood. Here’s everything new with the Renown system:

What changed in the Renown system in Diablo 4 Season 2?

Diablo 4 Season 2 made Renown rewards account-wide, which means that once a player reaches max Renown on any character, the rewards are automatically unlocked for all future characters.

Season of Blood also made that Hardcore characters could gain renown faster and have their renown rewards persist to subsequent seasons. This means that every renown reward earned in Season 1 will persist for a new Hardcore character in Season of Blood, regardless if the previous character died.

However, Altars of Lilith and Map Discovery progress for Hardcore characters that died before Season of the Malignant won’t persist for Season of Blood.

Blizzard also made some small adjustments to the Renown rewards for Side Quests (which were increased from 20 to 30) and Dungeons (from 30 to 40). According to devs, this change is retroactive, and the additional renown gained will be applied to characters who have already completed these missions.

And that’s everything on the new Renown system of Diablo 4 Season 2. If you want to know more about Blizzard’s ARPG, you can check our guides below:
