Malphas Diablo 4

Collecting the required number of Igneous Cores in Diablo 4 will finally give you access to take on one of the strongest antagonists of Season 3. Here’s how to farm Ingenous Cores in Diablo 4.

Igneous Cores in Diablo 4 are necessary to take on Uber Malphas, one of the strongest bosses in the game. While some already managed to defeat the demon Malphas, Uber Malphas is at a completely different level.

Blizzard introduced Igneous Cores after the beginning of Season 3 to summon Uber Malphas, and they can be a bit tricky to farm if you are in your first run. On that note, here’s how to get Igneous Core in Diablo 4 Season 3.

Diablo 4: What are Igneous Cores in Season of the Construct?

Igneous Cores are rare materials needed to open the Vault of the Loom Dungeon, leading you to Uber Malphas boss fight in Diablo 4 Season 3. After defeating Uber Malphas, Wanderers get the best Tuning Stones for the Seneschal Companions and other rewards such as some of the new Unique Items and Legendary Aspects.

You can get the most rare Tuning Stones for your Companions after defeating Uber Malphas.

These rare resources were added after the 1.3.0 update, where players needed to use Pearls of Warding instead. Pearls of Warding are currently only needed for the Statue of Zoltun Kulle and crafting Sigils for Nightmare Vaults.

Diablo 4 Igneous Cores: How to farm Season 3 boss materials

The best way to get Igneous Cores in Diablo 4 is to farm Heralds of Malphas. Here’s how to summon them during Season of the Construct:

  1. Find Igneous Obelisks around Sanctuary.
  2. Deactivate them to earn Elemental Cores.
  3. Get Shattered Stones, which can be obtained by defeating enemies in the Vaults.
  4. After getting 3 Elemental Cores and 50 Shattered Stones, use them on Voltaic Braizers.

You’ll then be able to summon a Herald of Malphas, and after defeating it, you’ll get Igneous Cores. You’ll need 7 Igneous Cores and 250 Shattered Stones to open the Vault of the Loom and find Uber Malphas to challenge.

You can also try summoning the Son of Malphas, who will randomly appear during Arcane Tremors, but he can suddenly crash any Nightmare Vault. While he’s often found around the Seat of the Heavens (Fractured Peaks), he can easily one-shot his opponents, so we recommend that you focus on farming the Herald of Malphas if you’re playing solo.

How to use Igneous Cores in Diablo 4

Once you have the required number of Igneous Cores in Diablo 4 Season 3, head over to the Gatehall to start the process of calling Malphas in Diablo 4.

  • Once in Gatehall, move down and enter the portal to the Vault of the Loom.
  • You will have to spend Pearls of Warding at the Statue of Zoltun Kulle to gain important buffs.
  • Interact with the Corrupted Altar to open the door to the Vault.
  • Finally, make your way through the four wings and collect the necessary items to finally be able to unlock the portal to Uber Malphas.

And that’s how you get Igneous Cores in Diablo 4 Season 3. If you want to know more about Blizzard’s ARPG, you can check our guides below:
