A brand new game mode called Minefield arrives in MW3 Season 3 Reloaded, but what is it and how does it work? Here’s everything you need to know about Modern Warfare 3’s Minefield mode.

MW3 Season 3 is certainly top-heavy when it comes to new content, as many have even described the patch as a “new game.” New weapons, maps, and modes arrive for Modern Warfare 3 players in Season 3, and speaking of modes, you may be wondering what Minefield entails.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new MW3 Minefield game mode, including when it will arrive and how it works.

What is MW3 Minefield?

MW3‘s Minefield is a brand-new game mode that sees a twist of Proximity Mines being placed every time a rival Operator is defeated in various game modes such as Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and more.

The mines that drop on enemy player corpses are deadly to the enemy team, but they can not be picked up and are set in place. This makes for a hectic match, as the longer the game goes on, the more mines scattered across the map.

When is Minefield coming to MW3?

Minefield is set to release during Season 3, which tends to mean the Reloaded update at the halfway point of the season. If the Season 3 Reloaded update follows the same schedule as the previous seasons, we expect it and Minefield to arrive on May 1, 2024, but this has not been confirmed so take it with a pinch of salt.

As soon as the devs release or reveal a drop date for the new Minefield game mode, we’ll be sure to update this piece so stay tuned.
