Modern Warfare 3 players slam “terrible” spawns ruining beta matches
ActivisionIt seems spawns are a point of contention for Call of Duty players every year, and it looks like Modern Warfare 3 will be no different. After testing the MW3 beta, players were quick to slam the game’s spawns as “terrible.”
Modern Warfare 3 is set to arrive on November 10, but before its global release, players are getting the chance to test out its multiplayer mode thanks to the beta. As PlayStation players took to the servers to sample some MW3 gameplay, reactions were mostly positive, barring one major issue.
MW3 players who tried the beta starting October 6 were shocked by what they’re deeming “awful” spawns. While players were quick to praise the TTK and movement adjustments in this year’s title, they felt the spawns left a lot to be desired.
Reddit user Shaka_Walls took to the Modern Warfare 3 subreddit to call the spawns “terrible,” and it didn’t take long for players to agree based on their limited experience with MW3.
Like most players who tested the beta, the OP starts off by praising MW3 before slamming the game’s spawns: “The game honestly feels amazing and I’m having a ton of fun, but holy God the spawns are awful.”
Recently, CoD fans took issue with the spawns in Modern Warfare 2019, Modern Warfare 2 2022, and Vanguard, and it seems like MW3 could have a similar problem on its hands.
One player pointed out that the familiarity with most of the maps in the beta really emphasizes the flaws with MW3’s spawns: “Playing the OG MW2 maps really puts it into perspective just how bad the spawns are.”
Meanwhile, other players seem to think that with the current spawns in the MW3 beta, the Domination mode “plays poorly yet again, due to spawns.”
The seemingly random spawns are infuriating players in Domination matches and several were quick to call for the return of traditional spawns: “If I am holding the B and C flags the enemy should only be spawning from the A side of the map. Instead this teammate TDM based spawning is just absolute chaos and misses the entire point of the game mode.”
The Modern Warfare 3 beta is meant to iron out any issues before the game’s full release, but only time will tell if the devs look to address the complaints that players have aimed at MW3 spawns.
