With Modern Warfare 3 Zombies completely revamping the popular mode, you can slay hoards of undead in both first and third-person perspectives. So, here’s how you can play MW3 Zombies in third-person.

Modern Warfare 3 brings a brand new experience to the MW series in the form of the popular Zombies mode, along with a lot of significant changes. You can access most of the usual Perks and special weapons, but MWZ matches tend to play out much differently compared to past versions of the mode.

While the game mode has usually had a wave-based format, this iteration is an open-world experience that you can play on the Urzikstan map. This means you’ll need to defend yourself from all angles to avoid being pinned down, and switching to third-person mode can help you spot any enemies attacking from hard-to-see angles.

Here’s how to switch to third-person in the Zombies mode for Modern Warfare 3 Season 1.

How to change to third-person in MW3 Zombies

You can switch to third-person in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies by holding down on the D-pad at any time in a match. This will instantly pull the camera back to give you a greater view of your surroundings, including any zombies attacking you from the rear.

There is currently no word on how to switch to third-person on PC, but we’ll be sure to update this page as soon as we know.

The main downside to third-person in MW3 Zombies is that you’re not able to use the sights on most of your weapons while in this perspective. Instead, you’ll have to rely on the onscreen markers to line up each shot.

That being said, changing to third-person in MW3 Zombies doesn’t lock you in for the rest of the game. You can freely switch between the two at any time, so you have the option to travel around in third-person, before switching back to first once bullets start to fly.

All in all, this feature gives you more freedom to experience Modern Warfare 3 Zombies from whichever perspective you prefer and will be a welcome addition for anyone who enjoyed the MW2 third-person modes.
