MW3’s Season 2 Reloaded update brought more new content to MWZ, and Act 4 continues in the Dark Aether with the Countermeasures Story Mission. So, here’s how to start it and complete it in MW3 Zombies to earn its exciting rewards.

MW3 Zombies skipped new content with the Season 2 update, and players weren’t happy at all, even saying devs “don’t care” about the mode. However, Season 2 Reloaded added tons of stuff to keep unhappy players busy, as new dangers lurk in Urzikstan.

Act missions in MWZ are the mode’s story mode, which spans across multiple easter eggs and now, in the mysterious Dark Aether Rifts.

If you want to continue Modern Warfare 3 Zombies’ story, or just tackle this newly added Countermeasures Story mission, here’s all you need to know.

How to start Countermeasures mission in MW3 Zombies

To start the Countermeasures mission in MW3 Zombies, players must first activate it from the Act missions menu before jumping into Urzikstan and heading to the rift located in F4.

You can find the entrance to the Countermeasures’ Dark Aether at F4.

The entrance to the Dark Aether, and where the Countermeasures mission starts, is a Level 3 Threat Zone, so powerful Zombies await.

To finish the mission, and get there safely, we recommend having Perk-a-colas ready and your Tier 3 Pack-A-Punched weapon of choice. Additionally, Jugger-Nog, Speed Cola, Death Perception, Stamin-Up, and Quick Revive are great options for this mission.

How to complete the Countermeasures mission in MW3 Zombies

Once you head to the Rift located MW3 Zombies’ F4 map location, marked by the Countermeasures mission waypoint, you need to enter the Dark Aether and begin the mission objectives.

Here’s all you need to do inside the Dark Aether to finish the Countermeasures Story mission in MWZ:

  • Head over to the marked building and locate the soldiers on top. This is your first objective, called “Investigate the nearby distress signal.”
  • Once reunited with the soldiers, start the Escort objective and take down zombies near the ACV while escorting it.
  • Keep killing enemies and destroy the signal disruption while following markers on the map.
  • Destroy and remove 15 different cysts inside the Dark Aether Mall, and rescue Fletcher from it. Here, the Death Perception Perk works wonders as it will highlight the cysts’ locations.
  • Activate the PnD by eliminating zombies near it. Be careful, as the Krawvir boss will spawn along Tier 2 hordes.

By finishing the Countermeasures mission, you can get the first of many items for a hidden Easter egg.

How to defeat Krawvir boss in MW3 Zombies

To defeat Krawvir in MW3 Zombies, players must aim at the armor plates located in the powerful Mangler boss’ arms and head. This is the fastest way to kill Krawvir, and Strike Teams must focus on killing it first. The rest of the Zombie horde can be contained using a Decoy Grenade.

Take advantage of the Krawvir’s pulsing attack while aiming Decoy Greandes, as they can help to clean up the hordes. If Krawvir catches you with the pulse, all your active weapon bullets will be depleted. A great strategy to avoid this is by using the new Mags of Holding Schematic.

Killing the boss will finish the mission, and a Reward Rift will spawn, containing The Drum key item for the Dark Aether Rift Easter egg of Season 2 Reloaded inside.

And that is all you need to know to finish the Countermeasures mission in MW3 Zombies! For more on the game, check out the rest of our content:
