The Warzone 2 Season 4 update was yet another huge overhaul for the CoD battle royale, bringing a long-awaited health increase and brand-new weapons. It also added the Vondel map, which fans will recognize from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.

This new Resurgence battleground has plenty of POIs and landing spots for players to learn, but it also introduced a new public event to shake things up mid-match.

What is High Stakes public event in Warzone 2?

The Warzone 2 High Stakes public event sees a number of loot crates drop from the sky while playing on Vondel. These crates contain valuable items and resources that will help place you and your squad on route to victory.

According to the Warzone 2 Season 4 patch notes, a crate will contain the following loot:

• A Portable Buy Station
• An Armor and/or Munitions Box
• Cash

Only a limited number will be available during each match, so don’t be surprised if you have to fight off enemy squads to claim a crate.

It’s worth keeping in mind that High Stakes is currently exclusive to Vondel, and doesn’t take place on Al Mazrah or Ashika Island. Only time will tell if the devs decide to bring the public event to other maps as well.

How to get double XP in Warzone 2 High Stakes event

Claiming any of the dropped loot crates during the Warzone 2 High Stakes public event will grant double XP for the remainder of the game. This applies to both player XP and weapon XP, so it’s ideal for those looking to level up new guns.

The bonus also stacks with each crate opened, and any Double XP Tokens you currently have active, making the event a high-risk but very high-reward endeavor.
