Modern Warfare 2 delivers both traditional Core maps and larger Ground War maps. Here’s a look at every map in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 brings more multiplayer maps to the game for players to enjoy. After the first season of Modern Warfare 2 brought some nostalgia with Shoot House and Shipment, this season looks to compete with much of the same.

The faster you come to understand the layout and structure of the new maps, the better your in-game results will be.

We’ll go over every Modern Warfare 2 map you can expect to see in Season 2, from new battlegrounds to old favorites.

Modern Warfare 2 continues to take players around the globe following its record-breaking launch. Players can expect their multiplayer experience to include various locations and different landscapes. This year the Core multiplayer maps have been designed specifically for 6v6 gameplay.

This new focus on the 6v6 design has resulted in a streamlined experience for players that leads to intuitive gameplay. Ten Core maps were available in Modern Warfare 2 at launch, but with Season 2, this has been extended to 14.

  • Al Bagra Fortress
  • Breenbergh Hotel
  • Crown Raceway
  • Dome (Season 2)
  • El Asilo

Valderas Museum makes a surprise return to the game after being removed due to copyright issues. Players were able to enjoy this map during the beta, and finally, the devs have been able to bring it back to the game.

There’s also said to be another new 6v6 map coming in the Season 2 Reloaded update, which we will provide more information about as and when it is revealed.

Modern Warfare 2 Ground War maps

  • Al Bagra Fortress
  • Al Malki International
  • Sa’id
  • Santa Sena
  • Sariff Bay
  • Zarqwa Hydroelectric
  • Zaya Observatory

Aside from core 6vs6 maps, Modern Warfare 2 also delivered larger maps for modes such as Ground War. These battle maps share POIs with the Warzone 2 map – Al Mazrah.

Sariff Bay brings players to a fishing village where you’ll be able to explore the surrounding waters and benefit from the swimming mechanic. Meanwhile, Sa’id was designed for urban combat and it is said to combine elements of core map and battle map gameplay.

Season 2 brought Zaya Observatory, a popular POI in Warzone, and Al Malki International to Ground War, which is known for possessing Terminal from the original MW2.
