As Warzone 2 players look ahead to Season 2, one expert has outlined the Assault Rifle that is primed to dethrone the RPK and disrupt that battle royale’s meta.

It’s no secret that the RPK has dominated Warzone 2 matches throughout Season 1 and Season 1 Reloaded. Players have been desperate for a new long-range meta to emerge and many are looking toward the Season 2 update for major changes.

The Warzone 2 Season 2 update will deliver weapon buffs and nerfs, along with several new weapons. While it’s possible that one of the new weapons will rise to the top, Call of Duty YouTuber IceManIsaac believes that a different Assault Rifle is destined for the throne.

In a recent video, IceManIsaac compares the Kastov 762 to the RPK and the TAQ-V. The two aforementioned weapons are currently the top long-range options but the Warzone to expert believes that the Kastov 762 can be “meta-defining in the months to come.”

  • Barrel: KAS-10 584mm Barrel (+0.40 lb, -0.26 in)
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
  • Optic: Aim OP-V4 (-2.32 oz, -1.65 in)
  • Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity (-0.32 g, -5.23 gr)
  • Magazine: 40 Round Mag

IceManIsaac foresees a major RPK nerf that could hit the weapon with the Season 2 update. The guru explains that the devs will definitely attempt to balance the broken weapon, but perhaps not those around it: “They nerf the gun at the top, bring it down, and then whatever was closest becomes next up.”

The Warzone 2 expert believes the Kastov 762 is next up. The KAS-10 584mm Barrel and the FSS OLE-V Laser will combine to boost the AR’s ADS speed, sprint-to-fire speed, and movement speed.

This Kastov 762 loadout will highlight the weapon’s TTK, but more importantly, its mobility. IceManIsaac claims that this Kastov 762 loadout will not only take over from the RPK, but it’ll also become the ideal weapon for Ashika Island matches.

As the expert goes over the stats for the weapon and compares it with the RPK, he concludes that it’s “more mobile than the RPK, but kills just as fast.”
